Since the outbreak of incidents of gender-based violence that dominated the media, men have been called upon to do something in order to put an end to the scourge. So they have come up with a campaign called ‘My Enough is Enough’ which seeks to evoke a sense of accountability in all men –so as to recognize and concede that all men are guilty in one way or the other and that it’s now up to every man to own the process of recovery and ensure that through conversations and other initiatives, men are at the forefront of fighting gender-based violence.

The World Health Organization says that people living with diabetes are twice as likely as the average person to develop severe complications due to covid-19. Law enforcement agencies and the National Consumer Commission (NCC) say they will continue to probe and investigate other pyramid schemes in the country. Law enforcement agencies this week put brakes on Up Money - a pyramid scheme that embezzled thousands of Rands from unsuspecting consumers. This led to the freezing of bank accounts and seizure of assets including three luxury motor vehicles of Up Money. Why do these pyramid schemes keep mushrooming? Is it our laws? And also what makes it so easy for people to fall for them?

Frightening reports coming out of Zimbabwe is that doctors in that country are painting a very bleak picture saying there’s a shortage of health workers as the number of coronavirus cases begin to rise. Dr Rashida Ferrand, an epidemiologist at the main public hospital in the capital Harare, says the shortage emanates from a strike in the sector and a shortage of personal protective equipment. The hospital has had to turn away coronavirus patients because it only has 30 beds for virus patients. There has also been a lot of arrests over the weekend of people protesting against issues of corruption.
