Trade Union Cosatu has welcomed President Cyril Ramaphosa's latest Cabinet reshuffle but say they are unhappy with certain aspects of the cabinet reshuffle.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced new changes to his cabinet. Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams will head up the communications ministry, as well as oversee the department of telecommunications. Nomvula Mokonyane, who was the minister of communications, is now the minister of Environmental Affairs and former minister of telecommunications, Siyabonga Cwele is the new minister of Home Affairs. The replacements in cabinet were for Environmental Affairs Minister, Edna Molewa - who passed away and Malusi Gigaba who resigned as Home Affairs Minister.

Today the Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) in partnership with organisations such as the Pan South African Language Board (PanSALB), University of Free State (Centre for Gender and African Studies) and the Department of Sports Arts, Culture and Recreation: Language services (Dept. SACR) launch a first of its kind booklet comprising of gender terminology in Sesotho. The gender terminology project aims to mainstream gender equality through ‘the indigenising gender sensitive terminology in all 11 South African official languages’. According to them, the new language terminology will be used to raise awareness, empower people on gender related matters and contribute to a better understanding of sexual gender identity and expressions and all forms of gender discrimination.

Auditor-General Kimi Makwetu says fruitless and wasteful expenditure increased by 200% from the previous year to R2.5 billion. The Auditor-General was releasing the 2017/2018 audit results of the country's national and provincial departments as well as SOEs, during a media briefing in Parliament yesterday. He also says irregular expenditure remains high at R51 billion.
