UNESCO in partnership with the Department of Basic Education, House of Traditional Leaders and Religious Leaders will be convening a Summit on the Inter-Ministerial Commitment on Upscaling Comprehensive Sexuality Education and Access to Sexual Reproductive Health Services for Adolescents and Young People in South Africa (The ESA Commitment).
The Summit will address how best the religious and traditional sectors can partner with government and the United Nations Family to ensure South Africa meets the expected outcomes of the Commitment to strengthen the country’s response to HIV.

Last week President Cyril Ramaphosa said taht his drive to drum up support for South Africa's ailing economy was warmly received by big business. This he said following meetings with business leaders and would be investors in New York.
He also attended the United Nations General Assembly where he called for fair trade and economic practises.A number of initiatives aimed at injecting life into the country's ailing economy have been initiated, these include a stimulus package.

Every year in September South Africa commemorates National Albinism Awareness Month and. Last Week the Deputy Minister of Social Development, Mrs Hendrietta Bogopane-Zulu currently chaired a two-day discussion on the plight of persons with albinism from, with today being the final day of the dialogue. In March and April 2018, Mrs Hendrietta Bogopane-Zulu visited the Shabane and Mkhize families in Mpumalanga following the killing and mutilation of their children Gabisile and Xolani who were persons with albinism. The forms of discrimination faced by people with albinism are interrelated. Their right to education, for instance, is affected by various forms of stigma and discrimination which might force them to drop out of school. This past Saturday the Albinism Society of KZN celebrates academic achievements of people who have albinism. This as many children with albinism drop out of school. This morning we unpack what issues have been brought up and deliberated on at the dialogue?
