To curb high numbers of graduate unemployment in South Africa, the Minister of Public Service and Administration (DPSA), Ms Ayanda Dlodlo, launched the Public Service Graduate Recruitment Scheme at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) in July.

The Scheme, approved by Cabinet in December 2017, offers new graduates work opportunities and training in government departments. This initiative came to fruition in response to the recommendation of the National Development Plan (NDP) that in order to achieve a professional public service, the State needs to be a Career of Choice, by attracting the best graduates and youth with potential to its employment service.

He's one of the winners of the NSTF-SOUTH32 AWARDS under the emerging researcher category. He grew up in Kwa Zulu Natal. His father dies when he was 2 by suicide. There was no maths and science teacher at his high school, so Musa volunteered to teach those subjects. After his mother and sister’s death, he was left with the responsibility of taking care of his sister's two young girls while he was at wits. He took those kids and came to Joburg with them. At a certain point in his life, while raising the girls, he slept on the streets and at the labs with those kids. Today he is an award-winning geophysicist.

Over six years ago Binkie Mosiane was raped and murdered underground in platinum mine. The perpetrator was eventually arrested, put on trial and jailed for life. The case highlighted the problem that violence against women was not confined to the home but also plays itself at workplaces in South Africa where women regularly face violence and sexual harassment and abuse at the workplace.

It is estimated that more than half of all working women internationally experience sexual harassment and abuse by their male counterparts at the workplace. In today's show we discuss the problem and more importantly - what is being done about it?

The South Sudanese President Salva Kiir has signed a power sharing agreement with the rebel leader Riek Machar and other opposition groups in a bid to end five years of civil war. About four-million people have been displaced, since the war broke out in 2013. This isn't the first agreement signed by Kiir and Machar. The question now is: will it hold?

Time now for the African Perspective. Today the spotlight is on the kingdom of Swaziland, which is one of the world's last remaining absolute monarchies. Mswati III is the King of Swaziland and head of the Swazi Royal Family. He was crowned in 1986 at the age of 18, succeeding his long-serving father King Sobhuza II, who died at the age of 82. In April this year, King Mswati III announced that Swaziland would now be known as eSwatini.
