Now, Statistics South Africa say there is a growing concern over the number of young people without jobs in the country. According to StatsSA's Quarterly Labour Force Survey for 2018, the country's unemployment rate has remained unchanged at 26.7%, since the end of 2017. While the stats reveal a stable unemployment rate, more than one in every three young people in the labour force did not have a job and that youth unemployment problems were notable, irrespective of education level. Public transport is an essential service but over the years it seems that instead of improved public transport, it has actually deteriorated. This is despite several government initiatives to improve public transport. Workers and members of the public regularly complain about late and overcrowded trains, overloaded and dangerous taxis, taxi violence, problems of their personal security and crime, public transport being far from their homes and workplaces, the high cost of transport etc. At times this frustration by commuting workers even results in arson attacks on trains.

We get their response on the Moeletsi Mbeki, regarding Julius Malema being a racist, which he alluded to in an interview we had with him on Monday, on Land Expropriation.

Following the land summit, the ANC says it will redistribute land under existing laws rather than by changing the constitution following a ruling party summit. The EFF has insisted that the constitution must be changed to ensure radical redistribution of land and other parts of the economy from the white minority to the black majority. Why is it important to change the constitution to effectively redistribute the land?

Some have said that this move by the ANC to expropriate Land is part of their electioneering campaign. We get the EFF’s thoughts on this.

In a panel discussion at the “Nation in Conversation” at the Nampo gathering in Bothaville, Political Commentator Moeletsi Mbeki says the African National Congress (ANC) and the Economic Freedom Fighters’ (EFF) stance on land expropriation without compensation is a mere attack on the white population. According to him, this is not about land, it’s about the loss of votes by the ANC. He says “They think they can bring back the voters who are abandoning the ANC, by attacking the white population….so it’s an attack on the white population, but they are not going to do anything” He joins us now to unpack this further with him…
