You’ve been taking breaks all your life, and still you question it!
“Research shows that we need to take a break and decompress so we can be at our best at work—and at home. Maybe we should ask if the life we’re working so hard to create is fun to live? When’s the last time you disconnected and took a vacation?”
Just D.O. I.T! Four ways to make it happen, and now.
“Taking a break can lead to breakthroughs.”
But that’s not common thinking.
We overglorify action, we look up to people who seize opportunities, and we put a premium on those who are ahead…So we think that taking breaks downplays action, implies passing up on opportunities, leads to ordinary people who are not as “advanced” as those who are up front.
Can we rethink that today?

We fail to get it though that simple doesn’t always mean easy. In fact, often, it means much harder because when something is simple, there’s no going around it and no misunderstanding it. It’s either we embrace it head on, or reject it outright.
And when we decide to stay simple we actually imply focus, discipline and the courage to say no.
“Tis the gift to be simple. Tis the gift to be free.” – Joseph Brackett

We simply S.I.M.P.L.I.F.Y.
Another How To session for those with the courage to unravel the complexities we got ourselves into.
“The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary many speak.” – Hans Hoffman.
Eliminate, then communicate.
Simplicity is an exact medium of too little and too much – Joshua Reynolds
It’s become so complex because the world has changed but the rules of running it haven’t evolved as quickly?!
So, here we all are with the keys to car we haven’t learned to drive!
But there is wisdom, too, in not trying to figure it all out, living with the questions, the confusion, the complexities of it all.
“In the confusion we stay with each other, happy to be together, speaking without uttering a single word.”- Walt Whitman.
Well, I do thank the Lord for my wife regularly!
Shhh… Seriously, if not for the biggest disappointments in my life, I would’ve missed the best of God’s appointments for my life!
Whatever I appreciate more automatically increases in value. So, start being thankful. At the very least, it adds to optimism, and yes, as the Dalai Lama attests, “feels better,” too.
“Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
