..And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?'Esther 4:14
Religious trauma is a major subject that doesn't get talked about nearly enough as it should be and for those who have gone through the unfortunate and oftentimes horrific experience of having been subjected to mistreatment or even abuse in a place that should be a solace for your soul, the recovery can last a lifetime.
To give this conversation and everyone involved the respect it deserves, this is part one of a two-part special. We will start with Ashley's story and the strength and bravery it took, to walk out of a place that was not treating her the way she should've been treated. To open up and share something so personal and painful takes a lot of strength and we hold tremendous solidarity, compassion and understanding to anyone else out there who has gone through such turmoil, dismissiveness and/or even abuse.
If you or someone you know is struggling with what happened to them, please reach out and call this support hotline for help:
The important part is remembering that you are not alone in these experiences and there is someone that is willing to help, when you don't know where to go or what steps to take next.
