Unbelief Condemning Gospel (John 3:16–21). To demonstrate his love God gives his only son on the cross for our sin. He doesn’t condemn the world. But those who reject the cross and love to keep their sins hidden in darkness are condemned by their unbelief.

Blowing Nicodemus’ Mind (John 3:1–15). Just like you had no hand in your physical birth, you must be born again through water and Spirit. Human effort can only work human results. The Spirit alone gives birth to Spirit.  Thus baptism is a work of the Spirit.

Changing Temple Math (John 2:13–25). Do we turn God’s house into a market where we barter? The messiah comes to clean up worship. The new temple is built on the cornerstone of Christ and where we are the living stones (1 Pet 2:5, 1 Cor 3:9).

Bridegroom’s New Wine (John 2:1–12). The first miracle is a sign of Christ the bridegroom’s marriage. To be a part of the miracle, will you “Do whatever he tells you”? The new wine the bridegroom gives is the best wine.

Seeing You Truly (John 1:43–51). How is the Holy Spirit inviting you to join in the life-giving Christ?  To believe in Christ does not require you to be some gullible rube, but rather God speaks to us in our skepticism. Christ cuts through the facades to see you as you truly are.

Retaining Live-With Disciples (John 1: 35–42). John the Baptist releases his disciples from their bond to him. Go live with the messiah. What do you want with Jesus? Andrew and Peter want the Messiah, but the Lamb of God? Would you live with Jesus to imitate him?

Chosen Slain Lamb (John 1:29–34). John the Baptist proclaims that Jesus is God’s chosen one but the title he gives is not expected. He came to reveal who the chosen one is. Behold the Lamb of God who takes this hit for you.  (Gen 22:8, Isa 52:7, 1 Pet 1:19, Rev 13:8)

Being Role Clear (John 1:19–28). John the Baptist is the messianic foreteller sent by God to be a light witness. When asked his role, he replies on the Word (Isa 40:3). He is not even the lowest rung slave worthy of Christ, yet Christ esteems him.

Unexpired Life Fullness (John 1:1–18). The Word is the God for it is the will, intent and action of God. Whereas the Law was by means of Moses, God’s grace and truth came in Christ. Children of God come not by human will, but are birthed by God’s Word and will.

Certain True Life (1 Timothy 6:11-21). Flee from sin and death. Run after a God-filled life. Even facing the cross, Christ confessed LORD as real life. Take hold of the life that is truly, real life. You can be certain of the promises of God who is King and Lord over everything.
