The Resurrection Promise - Luke 24:45-46

The resurrection of Jesus changed everything. He has conquered death and offers us new life here and eternal life when we die.

Here's today's promise.

Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and He said to them, "Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day. - Luke 24:45-46

Why not take a few minutes today to celebrate and thank God for the resurrection of Christ. Celebrate that because of the resurrection; you have new life in Christ.

Jesus' body was beaten, wounded, and broken on the cross. We are healed today because of the suffering He willing experienced for you and me.

And He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. - 1 Peter 2:24

The wonder of Easter begins at the cross. Without the cross, there is no Easter. As Jesus hung on the cross, the promise of forgiveness, cleansing, and healing was fulfilled.

Jesus was not a martyr, but a Lamb who laid down His life for you and me.

Because of Jesus suffering on the cross, you can live rightly before God. You can walk clean and pure before Him, and your every hurt, wound, and weakness of your past has been healed.

Today's Promise: 1 Peter 2:24

We all have one thing in common, a sin debt toward God. Fortunately, when Jesus died on the cross, He paid the price for our sin and paid off our sin debt.

And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you; for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins. - Matthew 26:27-28

When Jesus died on the cross, He paid the price for your sin. Each of us carries a sin debt against God. The Bible says we have all sinned. (Romans 3:23) That sin debt separates us from God and condemns us to an eternity away from Him.

The good news of the Gospel is that our sin has been forgiven. Imagine finding out how all a person's credit card debt could be paid off, or how all their student loans could be forgiven. That would be incredible news and you would share it with everyone you know.

Many people see the discipline of the Lord as God punishing His children. When something bad happens, their first thought is that God is punishing them. They don't see God as the loving Father who desires the best for them.

Because God loves you, He sometimes has to correct you. He does that to make you stronger and to bring you back to Himself. He always does it out of love.

If there is something we all desperately need today, it's the peace of God. Aren't you glad God has promised it to us?

Jesus promises you peace. Peace isn't the absence of conflict, problems, or difficulties. Peace comes from living under the reign of Christ in your life. Peace comes from understanding that God is in control and that He cares for you.
