Fear can easily control us, but God has given us His power to live above our fear.

For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. - 2 Timothy 1:7

We all have fears; they are a natural part of life. However, if you are not careful, fear can keep you from fulfilling your destiny in Christ.

How many ministry opportunities are missed because of fear? How many times have you know God was leading, but been afraid to share your faith? How many doors were left unopened because you were afraid to step out in faith?

Fear is the opposite of faith, and God has called us to never allow fear to control us. Paul wrote to his son in the faith Timothy to remind him that God did not give him a spirit of fear.

Prayer is a powerful weapon. When you pray, you connect with God and release the power of heaven into any situation. Through prayer, people have been saved, healed, and transformed.

Prayer releases heavenly forces to battle against the work of Satan in a situation. When you pray, your prayers will accomplish much because of your righteousness in Christ, and your faith that God will work.

Here’s Today’s Promise.

There is an invisible war going on around you. You don't see it, and if you are not careful, you can be deceived by it. The good news is that God promises the Holy Spirit that dwells in you is greater than any demonic attack that would come against you.

Some Christians fear Satan. They think someone can curse them, or cast a spell on them. They fear that demons or Satan are hiding around every corner. They have forgotten this promise. Satan was defeated at the resurrection. The only power he has over you is the power you give him. Because of the Holy Spirit dwelling in you, Satan and his demons have no power over you.

Satan attacks in subtle ways. He whispers a lie in your ear. He tempts you by placing subtle thoughts in your mind. Each of these is designed to lead to sin and deception. You must always be on guard for the subtle attacks of Satan in your life.

Often times, Satan attacks through wrong teaching. Anyone who teaches that Jesus is not God, or teaches that there are many ways to God is spreading demonic teaching. They may sound good, even spiritual, but if they don't teach that Jesus is the only way God, it's demonic. Scripture tells us to test every teaching we hear. Just because it sounds spiritual, does not mean it's from the Lord.

Satan attacks in many different ways. No matter what the attack, the Holy Spirit within you is still more powerful and will overcome him.

Jesus cared about individuals. Although he taught the crowds, He always took the time to deal with individuals. He never waved his hand over the crowd of sick and healed them at once.

When Jesus came across a corrupt tax collector named Zaccheus, He called him by name and then invited himself to stay at his house. Jesus was more interested in meeting people's needs than He was in keeping up social norms. No religious leader of His day would have been caught dead in the house of a tax collector. But Jesus was willing to risk His reputation to touch the heart of Zaccheus.

When Jesus saw Zaccheus, He could have condemned him for his corrupt business practices. He could have called him out as a thief. However, Jesus looked past all that to a short little man who had a hurting heart. He called him by name and went to his house.

Now here's the important point. God knows your name. You are not a nameless number to God. God loves the world, but He loves you just as much. He knows your name and wants a relationship with you. His first words are not of condemnation, but of invitation.

When Jesus called His disciples, He called them by name. When He appeared to Saul (later the Apostle Paul) on the road to Damascus, He called him by name. "Saul, why are you persecuting me?"

Today, Jesus is calling you by name to a deeper and closer walk with Him.
