I love the way this promise begins. You are MY hiding place. The psalmist declares his confidence in God and God’s desire to protect Him.

You have a hiding place; a place of refuge when problems and troubles come your way. That place of refuge is personal to you. God is not a hiding place, but your hiding place, When you enter that hiding place, it feels welcoming, strong and familiar. Your hiding place is safe and made just for you.

Sometimes troubles and difficulties seem to pile up all around you. You may be going through such a time right now. Troubles and problems feel like they are seeking you out. It is during these times you have a hiding place of protection and restoration. When stress and problems seem to be chasing you down, you can go to your hiding place.

Here's today's promise.

Once you were alienated and hostile in your minds because of your evil actions. But now He has reconciled you by His physical body through His death, to present you holy, faultless, and blameless before Him. - Colossians 1:21-22

God didn't wait for you to clean up your act before He began His work of salvation. While you were still in rebellion and hostile toward Him, He began working in your life to draw you to Himself.

As a follower of Christ, Jesus presents you to God without sin or accusation. This promise describes three ways Christ will present you to God.

After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you. - 1 Peter 5:10

No one wants to suffer, but suffering is often part of life. We live in a fallen world, and sometimes pain comes along. God never promised we would never suffer, but He does promise that He will use our suffering for a purpose.

Chuck Swindoll said; "The path of obedience is often marked by times of suffering and loss."

When an unbeliever goes through suffering, it is without hope. For the Christian, we know our suffering is perfecting us. We can rejoice in our suffering because we know God is using it for good in our life.

Let me remind you today that God knows you. He knows all about you, in fact, nothing is hidden from Him. He knows the good, the bad, and everything in between. Jesus said that God knows you so well He knows how many hairs you have on your head. For you older folks, He even know how many hairs you used to have on your head.

Before you ever took your first breath God knew you. He knew how tall or short you would be, the color of your eyes, the color of your hair, and a thousand other details. You are not a genetic accident, you are created by God. It was God who formed you in your mother's womb. Even before you were born, He knew you and was working in your life.

Let me remind you today that God knows you. He knows all about you, in fact, nothing is hidden from Him. He knows the good, the bad, and everything in between.
