Saturday is review day on the Daily Promise. Every Saturday we review the promises we learned during the week so we can allow God’s word to go deep in our hearts. So let’s jump right in.

Here are the promises we covered this week.

He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son. - Colossians 1:13

There are two invisible kingdoms in the world; the kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of Light. The kingdom of darkness is ruled by Satan and is set on your destruction. The kingdom of light is the kingdom of God and gives light, life, and freedom.

Because of your sinful nature, you were born into the kingdom of darkness. You were a slave to the rules of that kingdom, and you were under the control of Satan. By your nature, you would choose sin over obedience to Christ every time.

However, when you came to Christ in faith, God transferred you from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of Christ. You have been set free for the power of sin and the power of Satan over you. You have a new allegiance and a new master; Jesus Christ. Through faith, you are now a citizen of the kingdom of God.

As a citizen of God's kingdom, you live under the protection and care of Christ. You live in this world as a foreigner, as a traveler, one who is just passing through. The kingdom of darkness has no power or claim over you. You live as an empowered member of the kingdom of Christ. You have been reborn into Christ's kingdom. As a member of His kingdom, you have everything Christ has to offer.

It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery. - Galatians 5:1

It's July 4th here in the United States, and we love celebrating our freedom. We are blessed to live in a country where we can express our faith in God and Jesus without fear of retaliation.

Unfortunately, even though we live in a free country, many people still live in bondage to their heart. They live as slaves to their fear, failures, and desires.

Spiritual bondage can be just as debilitating as physical bondage. A person can be free to pursue happiness, but if they are in spiritual bondage, they may never even try.

Christ set you free. You are no longer in bondage. Christ came into this world to give you freedom. He set you free from your past, free from your fears, and free to be all God created you to be.

The Children of God faced a crisis of faith as they stood on the edge of the Promised Land. The land was indeed fertile, fruitful, and good, but it was filled with giants. Would they face their enemy with trust and obedience to God, or would they turn in fear?

I love that first phrase, "your God who goes before you," it is said with such confidence. Sometimes I forget that God is going before me, that He is clearing the way for me.

Imagine going through your day with the King of Glory clearing your path like the secret service goes before the President.

Have you ever faced a giant? Maybe not a physical one, but giants come in many forms. They can be financial, relational, or even personal. Giants are intimidating, threatening, and frightening. Maybe you are facing a giant today.

We begin the week talking about God's peace. Here's the promise.

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. - John 16:33

Jesus promises you peace. Peace is not the absence of conflict, problems, or difficulties. Peace comes from living under the reign of Christ in your life. Peace comes from understanding that God is in control and that He cares for you.

Because Jesus overcame the world through His perfect life, He can offer you peace. His victory produced the supernatural peace that He offers you today.
