Today's Promise: John 14:27
Jesus walked in perfect peace. He was at peace with Himself, His Heavenly Father, and the world around Him.
What would it be like to live in that kind of supernatural peace? Imagine going through your day in perfect peace, no matter what was going on around you.
The peace Christ offers is a peace that begins in the heart and moves into every area of your life.
You receive peace the same way you receive salvation - through faith. It is a gift from Jesus.
Today's Promise: Romans 8:16
Understanding that you are a child of God is at the center of your walk with God. Until you are secure in your salvation, your Christian walk will be full of doubt, indecision, and fear.
If you see yourself as a child of God, forgiven, an heir to the Kingdom of God, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, you will live that way.
Just as Jesus presents us to the Father as His children, the Holy Spirit speaks to our hearts that we are His.
Today's promise: 1 Corinthians 2:16
There are two types of people: those who live by sight and those who live by faith.
Those who live by sight only believe what they can see. They are blind to spiritual truth and stumble through life, blind to the spiritual world around them.
Those who live by faith have placed their faith in Christ and allow the Holy Spirit to direct them.
The Spirit speaks and teaches them and teaches from God's Word. Their spiritual eyes are open, and they live with new understanding.
Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review the promises of the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts and lives.
Here are the promises we covered this week.
Nehemiah 8:10 - The Joy of the Lord Brings Strength
Colossians 2:9-10 – You Are Complete in Christ.
John 14:5-6 - Jesus is the Way.
Romans 5:1-2 - God Promises Grace and Hope.
Romans 6:3-4 – Buried with Christ, Alive in Him.
Today's Promise: Romans 6:3-4
It may seem strange, but according to this promise, you are dead. When you gave your life to Christ and by faith accepted Him as Savior and Lord, you were crucified with Christ.
Your old life died with Christ on the cross.
Your union with Christ is lived out in water baptism. Your baptism was a symbol of your death in Christ.
Your death in Christ buried your past sins and failures. It opened the doors for your resurrection, and it broke the power of sin in your life.
Today's Promise: Romans 5:2
Grace and hope are two powerful forces working in your life. Through faith in Christ, you have access to the grace of God.
God's grace is His favor. Every time you close your eyes in prayer, you exercise the grace of God.
Hope is not wishful thinking. Hope understands that God is in control and is working all things together for your good.
Your hope is not in this world but in the Kingdom of God that is coming. Your hope is to spend eternity with Christ.
Today's Promise: John 14:5-6
Jesus once told the disciples how wonderful heaven would be. He said there would be a special place for each of His followers.
One of the disciples said, "How do we know the way?" Jesus said, "I am the way." He didn't say I know the way, or I can show you the way. Jesus said, "I am the way."
He then took it to the next level by saying He was the only way. Jesus discounted all other religions. They may be good people doing good things, but salvation comes only through Jesus.
Today's Promise: Colossians 2:9-10
When Adam turned his back on God in the garden, he became incomplete and empty. Throughout history, we humans have been trying to fill that emptiness in our hearts and lives.
When Jesus came, He changed everything. Since he had the fullness of God in Him, He imparted that fullness to you and me when we came to Him in faith.
As a Christian, you are complete in Christ. There is nothing more you need to experience all the fullness Christ has for you. Just as all the fullness of God dwelt in Christ, all the fullness of Christ dwells in you.
Today's Promise: Nehemiah 8:10
Nehemiah was a reluctant leader whom God used to restore Israel and rebuild the city of Jerusalem.
The People gathered, and the priests read the word of God. When they heard it, the people repented and mourned.
Nehemiah stood before the people and gave them a strange command. He told them to stop weeping, go, eat, and celebrate. Don't be sorrowful, but be joyful, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.
Joy is the confidence that God is working for your good.
You are strong today because the joy of the Lord is your strength.
