The Epic-Apple Judge indicates that her decision will not please either side. Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers is skeptical that Apple's App Store allows for "true competition." The judge stated that she will rule as soon as possible while all of the issues are fresh in her mind, but she did not specify a date. Apple may be forced to allow third-party app download stores and in-app transactions via alternative payment systems.

According to sources, Amazon.com is considering opening physical pharmacies in the United States. Any significant store rollout can take more than a year. In November, Amazon launched an online pharmacy for the delivery of prescription medications. Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid all saw their shares fall between 3% and 5% on Wednesday.

Amazon.com Inc. has agreed to pay $8.45 billion for the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film studio. It's a bet that a nearly century-old Hollywood icon can keep up with the world's insatiable appetite for streaming content. The proliferation of streaming services, including newcomers like HBO Max and Disney+, has put pressure on Amazon to acquire more programming. Amazon.com's cloud services division plans to establish three data centers in the United Arab Emirates in the first half of 2022. The arrangement was announced by the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) as part of its attempts to attract investors. In 2019, Amazon Web Services (AWS) launched its first Middle East data centers in Bahrain.

The company reported revenue of $4.17 billion (Year-over-Year +39%), net income of $1.46 billion (Year-over-Year +35.2%), and non-GAAP EPS of $6.07 a share (Year-over-Year +35.2%). Analysts expect revenue as $4.48 billion, and EPS as $6.56 per share.

Intuit forecast fiscal Q4 revenue of $2.29 to $2.32 billion, and earnings of $0.78 to $0.83 per share (Year-over-Year +26% to +28%), while analysts predict 35 cents per share on revenue of $1.81 billion.

Intuit's stock mainly keeps flat after hours, only +0.69% at $442.00.

As mentioned in our last Sunday episode, Zscaler Inc. reported its Q1 result after market close today. Its shares rose 8.03% at $186.61 after hours, following a 1% drop in the regular session to end at $172.74. The cybersecurity firm's quarterly performance and improved full-year forecast exceeded Wall Street's expectations. Zscaler reported a loss of $58.5 million, or 43 cents per share, in the fiscal third quarter, compared to a loss of 15 cents the previous year.

According to unnamed Taiwanese reports, Apple is assisting A-series and M1 chipmaker TSMC in obtaining Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccinations for its personnel, following a request from the Taiwanese government. Taiwan had no cases of community transmission of coronavirus for eight months in a row as of May 9th. However, only five days later, the number of new cases increased to 29, and then rapidly to 333 on May 17 — scattered over many sections of the country. Any slowdown in output might have a significant impact on the supply of practically every Apple product, from the Apple Watch to the Mac.

Cadence Design Systems demonstrated its third-generation 112G long-reach (112G-LR) SerDes IP on the 5-nm process of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd (NYSE: TSM). The IP is intended for hyper-scale ASICs, AI/ML accelerators, and switch fabric systems on chip (SoCs) for next-generation cloud data centers.

Cadence's expertise in high-performance connectivity IP products for hyper-scale data centers is further cemented by the 112G-LR SerDes solution on TSMC's N5 technology. Customers may also reap the benefits of the TSMC N5 process technology, according to Cadence VP Sanjive Agarwala.

Tesla (TSLA) was found guilty of using a software update to slow the charging speed and reduce the driving range of its electric cars. Some impacted drivers filed lawsuits against the corporation in numerous countries across the world, including the United States, Norway, and Denmark. In Norway, Tesla has been ordered to reimburse each affected consumer 136,000 kroner (about $16,000). Tesla stock jumped 4.40% on Monday to close at $606.44. On Tuesay, its stock drops about 0.4% at $603.82.

Following the release of Q1 results, Lordstown (RIDE) fell more than 7% to $8.97. As an EV startup reduces its production forecast, it seeks further funding. Lordstown Motors (RIDE) has significantly reduced its manufacturing forecast for its Endurance electric vehicle. The firm reported a loss of 72 cents per share, which was worse than the estimate of 25 cents. The Q1 report is the second since RIDE stock became public through a SPAC reverse merger in October. Following the news of the event, RIDE stock skyrocketed last week. Management also addressed an SEC investigation into charges made by short seller Hindenburg Research that Lordstown deceived investors.
