    # The Daily Trend Report with giovanni gallucci: August 23, 2026
Good morning. This is Alexis Parker, sitting in with giovanni gallucci and Chloe Dawn, and this is the Daily Trend Report. I drove in past the Chinati gate with the windows down, still running on Chicago club hours.
    ## In this episode
**Social Media.** So the story that stopped me cold this morning came off Travis's desk. Meta told a federal appeals court, under oath, that content from your actual friends is now under fifteen percent of the Facebook feed and about five percent on Instagram.
**Clean Label Food and Beverage.** Alright, my desk, and this one's got some grit in it. On August twenty-first, word came down of a ninety-day window that waves in up to three hundred thousand metric tons of tariff-free imported beef, with a promise it sells about twenty-five percent under current market prices.
**Content Creation Tactics.** Last stretch, and this is the one Travis dropped on the tactics desk that I can't stop thinking about. Blenders Eyewear.
    ## Quick takeaways
    - Stop opening your report with follower count. Lead with saves, shares, and DMs, the signals a real person chose to keep you.
    - Start a standing weekly ritual your regulars can count on, same day, same format, a hang or a drop that rewards showing up.
    - Pull your hundred most loyal accounts into one group chat or broadcast channel and talk to them like people. A hundred who answer beats a hundred thousand who scroll past.
    - Start a weekly process series and shoot it on the rail, the cut broken down step by step, one video a week for the next twelve. The imported-blend crowd can't make this, so it's yours by default.
    - When somebody raises price in the comments, answer with footage, not a paragraph. Pin a sixty-second clip of the actual work and let the labor make the argument.
    - Put the county in your bio and your captions, not as a slogan, as a running detail people start to recognize. Specifics travel. A place with a name beats a category every time.
    - Take your next partnership and give the creator a real role, a title, a recurring character, a say in the concept, and announce it as content, not a caption. A collaboration people can watch beats a sponsorship people scroll past.
    - Whatever your next announcement is, a hire, a launch, a collab, build the format first. Ask what would earn entertainment coverage instead of a trade brief, then make that, and let the news ride inside it.
    - Let the creator actually write. The Blenders bit landed because Howlett played himself, not a script read at him. Hand your partner the pen on their own lines and the whole thing stops smelling like an ad.

Good morning. This is giovanni gallucci, joined by Chloe Dawn and Rachel Donovan, and this is the Daily Trend Report. Morning, giovanni.
    ## In this episode
**Social Media.** So three different brands, three different budgets, made the exact same move in one week, and none of them called it a strategy. Away, the luggage company, spun up a second Instagram handle called at-actually-away.
**Clean Label Food and Beverage.** Okay, my desk, and this one got under my skin in a good way. Gatorade's science institute published the first study out of a program they're calling Body of Science.
**Content Creation Tactics.** Last stretch, and this is the one I've been chewing on since Eddie dropped it on the tactics desk. JCPenney.
    ## Quick takeaways
    - Take one recurring thing you already do that has a shape to it, the Friday brisket cutdown, one grower a month, and give it its own handle. Decide the run length before you shoot episode one, twelve is a good number, and pull the material from your own list so the supply and the audience show up together.
    - You've already got a season sitting in your channel, badly labeled. Reorder your existing how-to videos into a numbered YouTube show with real episode order and a title before you shoot a single new thing. Cheapest programming move on the board.
    - Add a track to your next three carousels. Music makes a carousel eligible for the Reels tab now, so a static post you were already going to make walks into more reach for free. Add the audio, watch your saves, and you've got a real answer in fifteen minutes.
    - Pin a post asking active women the thing nobody warned them about, in training, in a game, in perimenopause, and then answer every reply on camera for a week straight. Cite the institute by name and keep it educational, full stop.
    - Put the actual number on screen. Forty-three percent showed up already dehydrated. That figure does more work as a plain data card than any adjective you could stack on top of it.
    - Bring in one woman athlete who already posts in your lane and let her host the Q and A with you, and pay her for showing up every week, not for one drive-by post. A repeat face beats a one-time reach spike.
    - Find a behavior your whole category quietly does, and make the joke about the behavior, never a named competitor. That's the line between funny and mean, and it's the difference between earning shares and earning a lawyer's phone call.
    - Give the bit a second act somebody can do this week. A trade-in, a swap, a challenge, anything with hands in it. A punchline ends. A thing people can go do keeps traveling after the laugh.
    - Shoot it with real people, not actors, and leave the room tone in. The comment sections are running forensics on anything too clean right now, calling it AI on sight, so a little roughness isn't a flaw this year. It's your proof of life.

Good morning. This is Alexis Parker, sitting in with giovanni gallucci and Chloe Dawn, and this is the Daily Trend Report. Morning, Alexis.
    ## In this episode
**Social Media.** So this one hit two desks. Eddie had it near the top and Travis made it his lead.
**Clean Label Food and Beverage.** Okay, my desk, and this one's a gut-punch if you've followed the category. Eddie and Travis both flagged it.
**Content Creation Tactics.** Alright, last stretch, and this is the one I've been chewing on all morning. Eddie and Travis both had it on the tactics desk.
    ## Quick takeaways
    - Connect the assistant, run one honest audit against two competitors you truly compete with, then throw out every recommendation you disagree with. Take the pattern read, leave the plan.
    - Take the one creative-fatigue flag it hands you and answer it on camera, in your own voice. Don't just swap the photo, remake that post so the fix reads as you, not as the algorithm.
    - Spend the hour it saves you on one point-of-view post only you could make. Your take on your category, your face, published where your own audience actually lives.
    - Put your founder on camera this week, at a volume that feels like slightly too much. Not a polished brand film, a standing weekly spot where the person running it talks straight to the people who buy it.
    - Give your brand a character people can name, a face they know, a point of view they can predict. A logo gets sold quietly. A character has fans who'd make noise about it.
    - Make your most loyal buyers the story. Feature a real regular every week, by name, on your own channel, so newcomers see a brand people belong to, not just one they buy.
    - Pick one community your category never touches, a Discord, a subreddit, a niche newsletter, and show up native this month, in the format people already use there.
    - Sponsor something that already has traffic instead of building your own from zero. Back an existing creator's series or thread, and let their audience meet you inside a thing they already love.
    - Film the whole walk-in as your content. The story of a brand showing up somewhere unexpected travels on its own, whether or not the campaign sells a unit that week.

    ## In this episode
**Social Media.** So this one hit three of our desks at once. Eddie had it near the top, Travis made it his lead, and Kendall backed it with the numbers.
**Clean Label Food and Beverage.** Okay, my desk. Two little bottles in the same cooler going opposite directions.
**Content Creation Tactics.** Last stretch, and this is the one I've been waiting to get to. Eddie pulled it off the tactics desk.
    ## Quick takeaways
    - Pull your last thirty LinkedIn posts and read them cold against the tells. Uniform sentences, rule of three, no names, no numbers. Rewrite the worst five by hand and watch the reach move. Cheapest test you'll run all month.
    - Shift spend off AI-drafted text posts and into native formats. A document carousel built from your own screenshots carries human signal by construction, so the filter can't call it commodity.
    - Quit chasing a reach number that no longer exists. Screenshot where you actually stand now, then judge every post by one question, is this unmistakably yours, because that's the only thing still traveling.
    - Film the make. One unbroken clip of the thing getting pressed or blended this morning, name the botanical and the farm out loud, and post it before a beauty shot ever exists.
    - Lead every post with what a person feels by ten a.m., not what happens in a year. Same-day is the honest sell, and it's the one people actually repeat in your comments.
    - Run the ritual on camera. It's a morning-habit product, so make a standing morning post out of it and let your regulars start showing you theirs.
    - Pick one subculture you genuinely belong to, not the one that maps neatly to your product. Then show up where your category never does and post from inside it.
    - Make the merch a membership badge, not a sale. Something a fan wears because it says they're one of you, not because it moves a unit.
    - Stop trying to buy the community with giveaways and prize pools. Spend that time in the uncomfortable room instead. Earned belonging is the one asset a bigger budget cannot copy.

Good morning. This is Alexis Parker, sitting in with giovanni gallucci and Chloe Dawn, and this is the Daily Trend Report. Morning, Alexis.
    ## In this episode
**Social Media.** So this one's been sitting at the top of my stack all morning, and Jayme wrote the sharpest version of it. Starting August twenty-fourth, YouTube counts a view the second a video starts playing.
**Clean Label Food and Beverage.** Okay, my desk, and this one had Eddie, Travis, and Kendall all pointing at the same thing. Food Dive ran a piece yesterday asking a simple question.
**Content Creation Tactics.** Alright, last stretch, and this is the one I've been waiting to get to. Eddie had it on the tactics desk, and it's the rare thing that actually worked with receipts.
    ## Quick takeaways
    - Screenshot your baselines this week, before the twenty-fourth. Trailing ninety days, broken out by video and by format. When somebody points at a cliff in the line come October, you'll have the truth sitting right there.
    - Rewrite your reporting so engaged views leads and the public count sits in a small column behind it. If a client fell in love with the big number, have that talk now, not after it balloons.
    - Stop pricing creator deals against public views. Any deal that renews after the twenty-fourth pays more for the exact same work. Re-anchor to engaged views, or just go to a flat fee.
    - Shoot a sixty-second explainer, plain language, what GLP-1 friendly should actually mean. Name the protein number. Name the fiber. No jargon. Post it where your shoppers already are.
    - Answer the exact thing people type into the search bar. Is this GLP-1 friendly. Write that out in real words on a page you own, so when the badge confuses somebody, you're the answer they find.
    - Run a weekly myth-versus-fact reply. Take the top skeptical comment, answer it on camera with your own numbers, and let people check your work out loud.
    - Pick a grievance with no partisan owner. Something everybody quietly agrees on, where there's no enemy to rally the other half of your audience against you.
    - Make your brand the punchline, not the hero. The brand willing to look ridiculous gets rooted for. The one riding in to save the day gets skipped.
    - Write the headline before you shoot. If a reporter can't lift one irresistible line out of it, it won't travel, no matter what you spent.

    ## In this episode
**Social Media.** So Eddie put this near the top of his stack, and it's the kind of thing that sounds like big-brand news until you actually look at the mechanics. Starbucks just became the first brand to pilot TikTok's Custom Creator Network.
**Clean Label Food and Beverage.** Okay, my desk, and this one is a numbers story that Kendall ran down and Travis had flagged right under it. Whey protein isolate is trading around eleven dollars a pound.
**Content Creation Tactics.** Last stretch, and this one's straight off what actually shipped this week. Eddie pulled two videos off the tactics desk that had no business working, and both went nuclear.
    ## Quick takeaways
    - Pick the three people who already post, not the whole staff. Give them a one-page yes-you-can note, and put spend behind the best thing they've already made instead of reshooting it in a studio.
    - Don't script it. Find the good post and boost it. The reason it works is that nobody in marketing touched it.
    - Point the budget at profile follows and saves to the brand account, not likes on their post. That's how you learn which of your people actually pulls strangers back to you.
    - When your input cost jumps, say so on camera before a shopper notices the price. Thirty seconds, plain language, here's what moved and here's why. Confidence sells in a nervous aisle.
    - Put the receipt in the frame. Hold up the actual price chart, blur what you have to, and let people see it instead of taking your word for it. Rough evidence beats a clean claim right now.
    - Build one product's whole content lane around where it comes from and why you didn't cut it. Make the sourcing decision the story, not a line on the back panel.
    - Shoot one unbroken take, straight to camera, under thirty seconds, and put the whole premise in the title before your first word. The person who actually loads the truck at four in the morning beats any polished brand film you can afford.
    - State the stakes in the first two seconds. Eleven million people stayed four minutes because the girl told them what she was risking. Give the viewer a reason not to leave.
    - Use original audio or no audio lock, not a licensed track. Your brand account is shut out of the trending songs anyway, and the one-take formats are the ones the platform won't strip.

    ## In this episode
**Social Media.** So Travis put this at the top of his whole stack this morning, and Eddie had it flagged right under it. On Twitch, Amazon flipped on a setting that enrolls every streamer, all of them, into training its AI models.
**Clean Label Food and Beverage.** Okay, my desk. Eddie led his food section with this one, and Kendall and Travis both had it too.
**Content Creation Tactics.** Last stretch, and this one's straight off what brands actually shipped this week. Eddie pulled it from the tactics desk.
    ## Quick takeaways
    - Run a standing provenance beat. Once a week, show one piece getting made, timestamped, your face in the frame. The machine can mimic your look. It can't post your receipts.
    - Find the training opt-out, screen-record yourself flipping it off, and publish the walk-through. The setting they buried is a two-minute video your people will actually share.
    - Move your best work onto a surface you own, an email list or your own site, the same week you post it, so a platform rewriting its terms never costs you the archive.
    - Retire the word functional from the front of the post. It's the floor now. Lead with the exact benefit and the exact number. The milligram, the strain, the hour of day it's built for.
    - Pick one occasion nobody owns, the four o'clock reset, the wind-down, and build a recurring weekly format around that moment. Own the ritual, not the molecule.
    - Hand the comment section a number to argue about instead of a mood. Name the dose, name the source, and let people check your work out loud. Specific travels. Vague dies.
    - When the internet catches your product, answer inside forty-eight hours or don't bother. The window where the joke's still warm is the entire opportunity.
    - Join the joke on the audience's side. Don't defend, don't apologize, don't go quiet. Make the product a character that's in on it.
    - If you're going to announce something people can grade, a logo, a redesign, a rebrand, show up in the replies as a human, because the comment section writes your story whether you're standing in it or not.

    ## In this episode
**Social Media.** So Eddie put this at the top of his whole stack this morning, and Travis and Kendall both landed on the same story, so I read it twice. A researcher named Suganthan did the thing nobody thinks to do.
**Clean Label Food and Beverage.** Kendall led his entire food section with this one, and Eddie and Travis both had it flagged, so it's not a one-model fluke. Tyson is closing beef plants.
**Content Creation Tactics.** Last stretch, and this one's straight off what brands actually shipped this week. Eddie flagged it in the tactics desk.
    ## Quick takeaways
    - Pick the one opinion in your category you're willing to repeat every single week, and make it sharp enough that a person quoting it has to use your name to say it. Vague brands never get cited, and what doesn't get cited never gets learned.
    - Go get named in somebody else's writing on purpose. Pitch one category roundup, get on one niche podcast that publishes a transcript, and answer the real question in the forum where your people already argue. Being in the sentence beats being in a backlink.
    - Once a month, ask the model straight up what it recommends in your category, and don't name yourself. Whatever it says back is your real top of funnel. Screenshot it, date it, and watch whether you ever start showing up.
    - Film the trip, not the trophy. One phone, field to processor to counter, and let the distance the meat didn't travel be the whole point of the video.
    - Put a first name and a county on every post. The rancher, the town, the processor by name. Specific and local beats a certification seal, and it costs you nothing but the caption.
    - Pull the rancher and the processor into the post itself and let them reshare it to their own followings. Two small audiences stitched together travel further than either one goes alone.
    - Find the day everybody in your category posts the exact same thing, and put your best idea on a different day entirely. The quiet week outperforms the crowded afternoon.
    - Build the shot to land on mute. If the idea doesn't read with the sound off, it isn't finished yet, so keep working it.
    - Shoot the off-duty version of your brand. The ordinary moment sitting next to the product is the lane nobody else in your category is bothering to film.

Good morning. This is Alexis Parker, sitting in with giovanni gallucci and Chloe Dawn, and this is the Daily Trend Report. Morning, Alexis.
    ## In this episode
**Social Media.** So on August 13, X did the thing platforms just don't do. It put the source code for its For You ranking engine up on GitHub, open license, a codebase ten to fifteen times bigger than anything it had shared before.
**Clean Label Food and Beverage.** Ferrero signed a deal yesterday to buy Purely Elizabeth. Elizabeth Stein started that granola brand back in 2009, after she trained as a nutrition counselor.
**Content Creation Tactics.** Alright, the tactics desk. Eddie and Travis both pulled the same thread this week.
    ## Quick takeaways
    - If your account's a year old with regular posts, get it into the Under the Hood pilot and pull your label data monthly, same as you pull analytics.
    - Film yourself running the check. The screen recording of you reading your own reach file, narrated, is the post. Nobody's making that yet.
    - Turn the comments into content. Every "am I shadowbanned" reply gets a walk-through, not a yes or no. Teach it in public and you own the topic.
    - Put your ownership on the front of your feed. A pinned "who owns us" post, stated plain, nobody else named.
    - Make it a recurring beat, not a one-off. Once a month, show a real decision only an owner-operator would make, the kind a portfolio brand routes through a legal team first.
    - When an acquisition hits your category, don't comment on them. Post your own affirmative version that same day and let the contrast land on its own.
    - Before you shoot, ask if the video falls apart without your product in it. If it plays fine without you, you made an ad, not content.
    - Pick one collaboration and put eight weeks behind it instead of eight collabs with a single post each. Depth travels. Spread doesn't.
    - If you build a character or a scoreboard around the product, make sure the product delivers, because that crowd will check your work out loud in the replies.

    # The Daily Trend Report with giovanni gallucci: August 14, 2026
Good morning. This is giovanni gallucci, joined by Chloe Dawn and Rachel Donovan, and this is the Daily Trend Report. Morning, giovanni.
    ## In this episode
**Social Media.** So Travis put this at the top of his whole stack, and Jayme had it at number one too, so I read it twice. Three separate surveys this summer put a number on something we've all felt in our gut.
**Clean Label Food and Beverage.** Mine's the one Travis led his food section with, and Kendall and Jayme both landed on it too, so it's not a fluke. The first federal definition of ultraprocessed food was sitting there, ready to publish.
**Content Creation Tactics.** Last stretch, and this is straight from what brands actually shipped this week. Travis flagged it.
    ## Quick takeaways
    - Write down three things your brand believes that a reasonable competitor would argue with. Can't get to three, that's the post you've been missing, and no amount of generated video papers over it.
    - Put a named human in every customer-facing frame this week. Real name on the post, a real face answering your top comment on camera, not the brand logo doing the talking.
    - Pick one format you can run every week with one take and one camera, and say the same true thing until people start associating it with you. Consistency isn't posting frequency, it's repetition of a stance.
    - Film where your product actually gets made this week and post the process, not the pretty beauty shot. The work is the content.
    - Put your full ingredient list on the front of the pack, then make one post that just reads it out loud and says what you'll never add. One idea, said plainly.
    - Pin a post asking people what they actually want to know about how it's made, then answer every single reply on camera for a week. The questions are the series.
    - Find two people on your team who genuinely disagree about something real in your category and put them on camera together this week. Don't hand them a script that ends in a handshake.
    - Give the pair a recurring bit, same setup every time, so people come back for the two of them, not for the product sitting between them.
    - Let the disagreement be real and leave it unresolved. Pin the best round, and let the comments fight it out. That's the reach.

About The Daily Trends Report

From the publisher's feed

The Daily Trend Report. Every weekday morning, giovanni gallucci and a rotating cohost (Chloe Dawn on clean label food and beverage, plus Rachel Donovan or Alexis Parker on social media) synthesize the day's cross-LLM trend reports into three operator stories: social media, clean label food and beverage, and content, social, and AI. Tight, specific, no filler. For owners, founders, marketing leads, and operators in clean-label CPG.
