The Great American Speakoff! So this last weekend I came in the top 20 out of over 1000 speakers to enter the next round in Miami in February where I compete with about 100-150 remaining contestants in order to make the final three that get to give a 3 minute speech at the Grant Cardone Growthcon 10x conference. Essentially this is an American Idol style contest but with motivational speaking.
I'll give you the two minute speech that got me through the initial and second round!
I'm not going to lie... it's been a tough year, and I'll explain why it meant so much to me to make the Semi-finals.

In today's daily TRUTH, I discuss a conversation I had regarding politics and how we feel the need to know it all. Buddy the Elf? Really? Yeah, really. Did you know that it is now the 20 year anniversary of the movie ELF hitting the movie theaters? As we all know Will Ferrel is a bonafide movie star and has been for, well, about 20 years. What you may not know is he wasn't sure if the whole "Elf," thing was a good career move during filming. He remembers that the first few weeks of filming were him in yellow tights in the middle of Manhattan and he started to think, people are going to think he's a fool. Either the movie would be a big hit or he would be the guy everyone would say, "What ever happened to that guy from SNL." Fact is, he took the risk, he did something where he felt uncomfortable and it made him an instant star!

Here's the Truth, you have to be willing to take risks in life to be great... PERIOD. Just ask Will Ferrel.

The Daily Truth today is my realization how important sports are to unite people... of all ages. I know, it divided this country with political messaging, but it's alot more than that when used for good. I saw this with my own two eyes week after week with Fox big noon kickoff. Sports have the power to divide OR unite.

We have some issues in this country with crappy foods and ingredients. One of the best thing you can do for yourself, if you love pasta as much as I do and invest in high quality Italian pasta. The Beanie Bubble was actually a pretty decent movie with some good takeaways. One of those takeaways... patience. Beanie Babies changed the toy game forever with multiple creative and new ways of doing business... but they weren't an immediate, overnight success. They didn't catch on for 2 years...
