It looks to be that this is our new way of life for now.
Have you felt the emotional slump yet now that truth is landing home?
It’s so important to look after yourself in this new reality so that you can keep showing up for your clients. How you can do that is exactly what we're talking about in today's episode.
Note: Just a heads up if you're listening with kids around, I do drop an F-bomb right near the very end of the episode (I'm quoting someone) but I'll let you know before I say it so you can skip forward.

After we finished recording the last episode on community, I kept the microphones rolling a little longer. They captured this little moment of candid conversation between Dale and I (Kyle) that I wanted to share with you because it shows we're going through the same thing as you right now.
Enjoy this little behind the scenes moment!
Community is King.
That's the message Dale and I have been sharing for years.
But what happens when all of the things you used to build your community with like social events, team/partner workouts and other face-to-face interactions are taken away?
In this episode of The Trainers Tribe I share what I've learned from my experience of building community online over the past 10 years and Dale shares how he's been rapidly growing a community around his online bootcamps.
Building an online community and engagement is no longer optional, we all have to start doing it for our businesses and also for our clients.
Here's what we cover:
2.45 – How video and audio can help create a personal connection
4:00 – Being in shock by what has happened
6:40 – Ways to find and grow your community
11:50 – Standing out from other online services to maintain your community
15:30 – Sending out ‘Daily Missions’
16:45 – PEG effect (Play, Exercise, Gratitude)
20:30 – Vulnerability and uncomfortability
21:25 – How to find the courage to put yourself out there
28:25 – Everyone starts somewhere
32:25 – Right Here, Right Now
“Everyone starts somewhere, you don’t need a cape or a secret identity to put yourself out there”

We're back, baby!
Welcome old listeners and new to a brand new episode of The Trainers Tribe. We're kicking things off this episode by talking about Pivoting.
Just like in sport where a player pivots on the spot to change direction and keep playing, pivoting in business is about changing the direction of your business to stay relevant without the need to quit and destroy everything you worked so hard for.
Right now everyone in the face-to-face fitness industry is being forced to pivot online. While initially this can seem shocking and a cause for anxiety, another way to look at it is that new opportunities are now at your fingertips.
In today's episode we talk about:
2:50 – What opportunities have been created for you in this situation?
11:50 – How can this situation create something better?
13:20 – Are you being selfish?
15:18 – How to engaging clients through the screen
19:15 – How can you have more impact?
19:55 – Why Dale is running sessions for free and when he will start charging money
24:35 – Should you still charge money for your sessions?
26:58 – Right Here, Right Now

This is a replay of one of our ‘Best Of’ episodes of our podcast The Trainers Tribe. We’re publishing these fan favourites as we lead up to releasing new episodes this year.
Kyle here! On today’s episode I’m really excited to have on one of my hero’s and mentors, Jonathan Fields. I was actually quite nervous giving this interview so I apologise if I’m not my chirpy self.
I had Jonathan on to talk about his new book, and while we do touch on it, he ended up dropping some incredible wisdom on us about running crazy-successful fitness businesses.
Jonathan has built and sold two fitness businesses, one a high end PT facility in New York, the other, one of the largest, if not the largest, yoga teacher training studios (also in New York). In this episode he shares with us:
He leaves us with a challenge and some wisdom that I know you’ll really love so make sure you listen to the end!

This episode is especially relevant as Dale just stepped big-time out of his comfort zone (and kicked a lifelong goal) of speaking at a TEDx talk. We're looking forward to sharing the recording with you once it become available.
What are you avoiding doing that you’re afraid to do?
We all have these and instead of doing them we dance around them with ‘busy’ work which holds us back from achieving and doing what we really want.
In this week’s episode Dale and I share stories about how doing something we feared ended paying off big for both of us.
Then we dive into how to make those big scary things you want to do more manageable and achievable so you can stack the odds in your favour. Sometimes the sheer size of a project can seem overwhelming.
Have a listen to this episode hear our advice.
Our challenge to you
Decide what that one scary thing you’ve been avoiding doing is.
Will it take less than 5 minutes? If not, how can you break it down into steps that take less than 5 minutes?
Write it down then join our Facebook group and share what it is.
This week commit to doing that one, scary task. The outcome doesn’t matter. What matters is that you do it!
Let us know once you’ve completed it.

So if you’ve been thinking of finally starting your own bootcamp this year or if you feel like your bootcamp
could do with a restart, grab a pen and paper, hit play and start taking notes.
You’ll learn:
Today’s episode is one I have been planning for about six months. Jase is a great friend of mine and we have worked very closely over the years, firstly as PE teachers and most recently through building both of our businesses. Jase’s story is one that all trainers will be able to relate to, juggling two full time jobs, whilst trying to keep a young family in tow and still managing to find the time to enjoy his own hobbies (such as footy and basketball).
Jase talks about his passion for fitness and the steps he has taken to become a leader in the fitness industry.
Jase covers his top advice for trainers who are starting out. Having started with a morning bootcamp of just four people, to now running a training facility in one of Melbourne’s busiest suburbs with over 70 members, this is an episode worth listening too. In addition to the day to day management of Firm Butt Fitness which Jase runs with his partner, Jase also talks of other exciting projects on the go, including an upcoming health and fitness retreat in Bali.
In this final episode for the season we turn things over to you, our listeners. In our Facebook group, we asked you: “What has been the number 1 thing you've done to help you find and/or keep clients?” Dale and I read your responses and add our own thoughts and experiences. Listen in to hear what they are.
