  • Quick Meditation for Calm
A very short meditation to help you release stress and feel better. Only a couple of minutes long, it's perfect for those of you who are new to meditation. The guided part is about 3 minutes long but the song goes on for another 3. If it feels right to you, you might choose an affirmation and continue to meditate after I stop speaking. I hope it's helpful.

  • Still More on Minneapolis with William Hill
So this little show has morphed from a coronavirus lockdown diary to a "Conversations About Race and Police Violence with Darbi's Black Friends in Minnesota" show. Meet William Hill. William is a 6th Degree black belt and entrepreneur. I wanted to talk with him about his experiences with police which run the gamut from completely terrifying to overwhelmingly positive.
Instead of Three Good Things, here are Three Good Links to Help White People Get Smarter About Police Violence and Anti-Racism:

  • More on Minneapolis with Elias Lemon
After last episode featuring the unwaveringly positive and wonderful Jeff Sidner, I felt compelled to feature another Black Minneapolitan who has had a different experience with the MPD. Meet the also wonderful Elias Lemon. You can join him on Facebook here (make sure to include a note indicating you heard him on the show): https://www.facebook.com/elias.lemon.3

  • Jeff Sidner: Thoughts on the Mpls Uprising
Today the show mostly shifts away from coronavirus/quarantine talk and to the murder of George Floyd and the resulting uprising in Minneapolis. I welcome Jeff Sidner, a Black entrepreneur who owns a karate school just a couple of miles from where Floyd was brutally killed by a police officer. He shares his thoughts on the uprising and on the divide between cops and the Black communities they serve.

  • Coronavirus Coping Stories: Birthing Babies During a Pandemic
A show mostly about coping through the coronavirus crisis. Each episode, Darbi will talk with someone in her network about how the coronavirus is affecting their work, life and health. She'll also be dropping in the occasional free workout or meditation to help you through these tough times.
Today's show features birthing babies in a pandemic...from both the perspective of a midwife and a pregnant person. Midwife Emily Pullen and pregnant lady (UPDATE....NOW A MOM) Jane Vongvorachoti are my guests this episode.
But first....Three. Good. Things! Three things that made me smile since the last time we spoke even though I feel pretty shitty most of the time.
    1. Tawd Chapman, Leader of the Bro-Life Movement. AKA Molly Gaebe, who's funny AF. https://www.facebook.com/AbortionFront/videos/2541604806169044/
    2. Normal People. You already know this. Duh. Watch it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normal_People_(TV_series)
    3. Off-leash dog parks where people are allowed. If you're lonely, get yourself to one of these. SIt down on the ground or, even better, get into a plank or do some exercise that gets you on the ground. Wait for a dog to get into your face and demand some attention. GIve that dog some attention. Feel better.

And that's what this one is, a meditation. Sort of. This is actually the one where I complain about my mental state for about half of the show and THEN we meditate. I hope it's helpful.

A show mostly about coping through the coronavirus crisis. Each episode, Darbi will talk with someone in her network about how the coronavirus is affecting their work, life and health. She'll also be dropping in the occasional free workout or meditation to help you through these tough times.
Today's show features Steve and Nick, an NYC married couple working from home in a tiny apartment during lockdown....together. Hear their tips on making an uncomfortable situation better.
    Also....Three Good Things!
    1. Socially Distant Street Bingo. It's a thing and it's super fun!
    2. ColemanAF, a dinner show featuring Roz and Craig Coleman Williams and their very teenaged teenager, McSurly. Watch on Instagram Live @irozapp every night.
    3. PRINCE all weekend on YouTube. An iconic 1985 concert (this is PEAK PRINCE, people!!) is airing through Sunday evening on May 17. Watch with me on Facebook on Saturday, May 16 at 4p Central/Minnesota time and 10p London time. I'll start a post on Facebook and we can all comment and cry together as we take a trip down memory lane. This is for all you fuckers who whined about how "no one else should sing his songs" during the Grammys Tribute about a month ago (which was awesome....fight me). https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/prince-estate-live-event-youtube-998198/
