The Dark Mark Show

Mark went to the premiere of Actor/Director Harley Wallen’s new vampire movie “Beneath Us All” last week and here is where he first met Harley, his lovely wife and collaborator Kaiti and actress Vida Ghaffari 4 years ago discussing his film Eternal Code

Mark and Hannah return and try to crack the Eternal Code with writer/director/actor Harley Wallen and actresses Kaiti Wallen and Vida Ghaffari
Harley talked about his Swedish upbringing which made him an undefeated MMA fighter and 5 time black belt in Judo. He also broke into show business as a break-dancer (though he admits that he can’t do MC Hammer moves) which put him on Swedish TV. Since then he has become a versatile and prolific writer/director working with such notable actors as Tom Sizemore (wait until you hear how he cast him) Tara Reed, John Savage, Corbin Bernson as well as Richard Tyson, Scout Taylor-Compton and Billy Wirth who star in his new action/sci-fi thriller Eternal Code which is inspired by brain transplants which are currently being experimented on.

Kaiti is Harley’s wife and partner and plays a good hearted working girl in Eternal Code. She started modelling in her native Michigan and tells the story about how she met Harley in a nightclub and felt his energy. They co starred in the movie Betrayed where he kidnaps her, which led to Mark speculating about their affinity for role playing. She is in charge of casting their movies and talks about the process and how they cast their daughter to say a memorable line to Tara Reed during their movie Bennett’s Song.

Vida gets to follow in her famous father’s footsteps and play a scientist in Eternal Code, though this role is a bit of a departure from the good girl roles she normally gets cast in. She gets to kiss Richard Tyson, who she knew from movies when she was a teen. She talked about being typecast and only going up for roles in burkas for the longest time, but that time is no more as she is super busy. Just this year she has starred in Meathook Massacre The Final Chapter, Robowoman, and LA Shark Attack. She also had many admirers at the Q&A at the premiere of the movie which of course got noticed and commented on by Mark.

Novelist Blake Rudman joined Mark and Nicole to talk about his 4 novels that have come out in 2023, his high roller corporate past and the many books he has to come.

Blake grew up in Dallas but went to UNLV where he would come under the mentorship of Steve Wynn which led him on a fast track in his 20s to success in Las Vegas casinos and also in restaurants as he was responsible for the expansion of Pink Taco to Los Angeles and took top positions in the corporate world on a global basis.

His passion has always been writing and he is so prolific writing novels that 4 have already come out on Hellbound books:

Singer/Songwriter Philip Cole joined Mark and Nicole for quote a rocking show this week.

Philip discussed his time in Desert Storm where he was responsible for checking parachutes, which apparently is a job that is a lot less detailed these days. He always had a passion for guitar, inspired by bands such as Triumph, Van Halen, Whitesnake and other hard rockers and after a hiatus, has been rocking crowds from New Jersey to Florida and even the famed Sturgis Motorcycle Rally as part of the Renagade Radio feed. Philip talks about his bike, how he found love at an airport, names his pick for most underrated and overrated guitar players, debates Mark on the David Lee Roth/Sammy Hagar age old argument and much more.

Fitness coach Derek Newborn joined Mark and Nicole for a lively and educational show about his extraordinary life and career and his metabolism rev up program.

Derek, who looks like a bald Bradley Cooper on steroids, grew up as many men did raised by a single mother who was forced to be both mother and father to him. She was busy and had gained weight over the years while he took a different path and became a personal trainer and male model which led to him gaining a sizable gay following and much success. He then made some bad lifestyle choices which led to him becoming a narcissist and ultimately becoming depressed and even suicidal. He got his life and career back on track and has specialized in teaching women over 35 how to eat responsibly and work out which has led to them speeding up their metabolism and go from frumpy to flat tummy

He recently turned 40 with a scholarship and is helping women all over the world (even South Africa) look and feel their best.

It’s not all wheat grass and celery sticks either as Derek has a slogan and shirt that says “Tequila Shots and Back Squats”. Truly words to live by…

A classic Dark Mark show from 2019

Erika Ervin aka Amazon Eve from American Horror Story and Grammy viral sensation Joy Villa joined Mark and Hannah for an epic show

Amazon Eve talked about how she was called back to perform the role of “The Fist” on AHS Apocalypse, being star struck meeting Joan Collins and reconnecting with Kathy Bates, overcoming her fears of zombies in her new movie Dead Squad and how awful transsexuals were treated in the 1980s…how far we’ve come…and how much farther we need to be…

Joy talked about her various Grammy dresses which have propelled her to fame including a dress made out of snow fence, an HR Giger inspired dress, and the MAGA Trump dress which propelled her to the top of the charts and made her a darling of conservatives. She talked about designing her latest Grammy dress and the true story which inspired the pro-life theme and her new upcoming talk show.

The show began and ended with Joy singing to Eve’s scatting beat…it was quite the party!

Country singer songwriter Uncle Ryano brought some down-home stories and inspiration to The Dark Mark Show.

Uncle Ryano grew up in East Texas/West Louisiana and regaled Mark and Nicole with tales of fishing in alligator infested waters, talked about paying his dues in some rough Texas bars playing behind chicken wire Blues Brothers style, he went to Nashville and impressed people like Big and Rich, Keith Urban and The Judd’s producer and was all over CMT, when he learned that the business side of show business is not all it’s cracked up to be. He feels that was a blessing in disguise, as he was able to marry his teenage sweetheart and have a wonderful daughter when a chance call from Billy Ray Cyrus led to him writing again (including a song warning of frying bacon naked) and he has put out 2 albums already in 2023 and is amassing a worldwide following which includes social media influencers remixing his songs and Spider Man dancing to his music all the way in Africa (!)…

Oh and Uncle Ryano also gives his thoughts on “Try That in a Small Town” as well as having some choice words about wokeness…parental advisory requested….

Mark and Nicole welcomed Brad Forenza, the creator of the award winning radio play Around The Sun to the lighter side of the dark side for a wonderful conversation.

Brad talked about how growing up in Jersey City has made him identify as a New Yorker, even though he is in a different state. He was able to turn his short plays to a serious of audio plays called Around the Sun which features such acting luminaries as Vincent Pastore, Robert Funaro and Maureen Van Zant from the Sopranos, Marsha Mason (the Goodbye Girl), Austin Pendleton (My Cousin Vinny), Sally Struthers (All In The Family), BD Wong (Father of the Bride), Piper Laurie (Carrie), Richard Kind (Mad About You), Richard Kline (3s Company), Mindy Cohn (The Facts of Life), Bruce Villanch (Hollywood Squares) who apparently has a crush on Brad’s stepfather and many many more. Brad details how he was able to work with such illustrious actors, discuss his writing process, what it is like to win podcast awards (Mark is so jealous) and what is in store for Season 3 which takes a departure from previous seasons and features 95 year old legend Estelle Parsons (Bonnie and Clyde) Francois Clemens (Mr. Rogers Neighborhood), comedian Judy Gold and another all star cast.

High Priestess of Order of the Black Flame Sun Lucivere Von Der Stjuerpan joined Mark for a magickal good time.

Lucivere described her upbringing as a Pastor’s daughter in Kansas and as most preachers’ daughters do, she rebelled and really indulged her wild side as her family moved to California and she found the rave scene. She quickly got married and had children and became an adult entertainer, finding a community and realizing she can support herself and doesn’t need the help of any man to succeed. She then became intrigued by Satanism and eventually created the Order of the Black Flame which has a worldwide following. She talks about magick in all of its forms, what it takes to be a High Priestess, how her order is helping awareness and prevention of child abduction and sexual assault, debunks the many misconceptions about Satanism, answers Mark’s queries as to whether Jay Z, Beyonce and AI are satanic, having the most evil page on LinkedIn, her magical sensuality and so much more…

You can find out more about Lucivere and Order of the Black Flame as well as order  merch here

Award winning plus sized adult star Sofia Rose joined Mark and Nicole for some stimulating conversation.

Sofia talked about her sheltered upbringing, being unhappily married with a child and starting her journey to adult superstardom on an AOL chat room, which led her to take naughty photos, which eventually led her to break the internet on several occasions, as well as breaking the glass ceiling for BBW performers on premiere adult sites such as Brazzers. She talks about wearing out men in her personal and professional life, how much men and women covet her huge breasts and even her cellulite (!), the advantages to being ethnically ambiguous, how living with her brothers helped give her the confidence she has today, how hard she has to work to maintain her status, some things she just refuses to do on camera and what is the fantasy she has always wanted to do in real life, but has yet to find a man courageous enough to do it (hint- Mark has actually done it)…

Academy Award nominee John Hawkes and horror movie icon Rodney Eastman joined Mark and Hannah for some spirited conversation and music in this classic Dark Mark Show from 2019

John is someone who has been in so many big movies, but says he can walk the street and go unnoticed much of the time. He describes how he was able to stay awake while acting with Daniel Day-Lewis In Lincoln, what it was like to be nominated for an Oscar for his performance in Winter’s Bone (wait until you hear the freebies he got), how he sacrificed his body to play a man with polio in The Sessions and what it felt like to not be nominated for an Oscar for that performance after everyone thought he was a shoo in, what took the Deadwood movie so long to finally happen, what it was like to be on the set of Northern Exposure when he was starting out, the preconceptions of being an actor who also sings and so much more

Rodney is known for A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 and 4 as well as the remake of I Spit on your Grave. He talked about getting the script for I Spit on your Grave with a different title and the depths he went to to play such a despicable character. He was a heavy metal loving teenager living in East LA when being an extra in an Afterschool Special led to being one of the Dream Warriors. He recounts his crush on Patricia Arquette, how cool Laurence Fishburne was, how he passed out while being tongue tied by Freddy Kruger and being a teen heartthrob, so much so that he was named one of the most eligible bachelors in Hollywood.
Rodney and John also sang 2 songs acoustically, one from an upcoming musical play they wrote with someone named Wham-O (!)
