The Dark Mark Show

It's hard to believe it's been 4(!) years since Lenora Claire and Bree Walker met for the first time on The Dark Mark Show. This is definitely one of the best podcasts we ever recorded.

Mark and Hannah welcomed producer/curator/activist Lenora Claire and newswoman/actress/activist Bree Walker to the lighter side of the dark side

Lenora talked about her days as a child actress which started with her talking her way on to Reading Rainbow, how frugal Steven Spielberg can be, why the LGBT community stays ahead of everyone on trends, why goth and hip hop mix so well together and about her harrowing experiences with a stalker which has landed her on Crimewatch, 48 Hours and Dr.Oz and what we need to do to update the existing laws and make people safer.

Bree had her own experience on Reading Rainbow, explaining to children about her having ectrodactyly, how she was one half of the first all woman news anchor team, what it was like being inducted in the San Diego women’s hall of fame, her own experiences with stalkers, what it was like to guest star on Nip-Tuck and got the cutest message taped by Hannah’s grandpa,

Salgorythm who just released the comedy song and video "He's So Euro" joined Mark and Nicole for a fun show

Salgorythm grew up in Detroit and played guitar in quite a few bands which led him to collaborate with Insane Clown Posse of all people. He stayed in Detroit (which is nicer than most people realize} until relocating to the Delray Beach neighborhood of MIami. It is there that a chance encounter while nude in the sauna at his gym led Salgorhythm 'to write He's Sp Euro and don a speedo for the majority of the video. Body hair, speedo vs shorts, boxers vs briefs, baldness, political correctness, the need for a new Weird Al and spontaneous chubbing are all topics of discussion here among many other things.

Mark welcomed back horror director Dustin Ferguson and former co-host Hannah Bakk to discuss one of Hannah's favorite horror movies...
Friday the 13th part VIII - Jason Takes Manhattan
So many questions to be answered such as:
Is this as gory as Hannah has hyped it up to be?
Why does it take so long to reach Manhattan?
Is Kane Hodder the best Jason of all time?
Why is this the last film to have Friday the 13th in the title?
How did they sail to Manhattan if they are docked in a lake?
How did Jason manage to reach Manhattan?
Did they rip of Killer Klowns from Outer Space for a scene?

Singer and Suicide Girl Elina Lo joined Mark and Nicole from Miami for a fun show

Elina said she is the first person in her family to have musical talent and was singing around the house at an early age...sometimes when she wanted to and sometimes at the urging of her parents. She talks about her awkwardness having a YouTube channel while still in braces and before the current professionalism of teen YouTubers and how she has blossomed from fronting a rock band to an in-demand model who became a Suicide Girl fulfilling a lifelong dream and how her fans have followed her in print to her still burgeoning career which has led her to her new single "Love" and many more songs and striking videos featuring her exotic beauty and stunning tattoos to come.

She also clears up the confusion about all the various names she goes by.

Mark and Nicole welcomed cosplayer/model/influencer Rachel Hollon to the lighter side of the dark side.

Rachie as she likes to be called talked about having a Harley Quinn personality at a young age, which led her to dress up as HQ leading to her catching the eye of a comic bookstore owner which led her to being one of the most sought-after cosplayers in the convention circuit. She has dressed up as Vampirella, Red Sonja, Poison Ivy and Bettie Page on comic book covers while keeping her bubbly personality. Her bubbly personality and good looks belies a nerdy side as she used to work at GameStop of all places She talks about coming full circle and going from buying a costume at Hot Topic to covering a Halsey concert for Hot Topic as well as the perks and pitfalls to being an influencer. She is living her dream but working harder than most people realize.

Rachie also details some unusual (and sometimes inappropriate) requests she has gotten from some of her fans.

This week Mark and Nicole do something different which may lead to a new spinoff podcast, they discuss one of Nicole's favorite movies Alien vs Predator and try to answer these questions and more:
Is AVP a horror movie or an action movie?
Why didn't Sanaa Lathan become a bigger movie star?
Is Paul WS Anderson an underrated director?
How powerful is the Alien acid blood?
How did this movie get rated PG-13 and did it hurt the movie?
Why didn't they answer the question of who would actually win in a fight between Alien vs Predator?

Stitched Up Heart bass player Randy Mathias and actor/comedian Rosalee Mayeux joined Mark and Nicole for a fast and funny show

Randy has known Mark and Nicole for a long time through the LA Goth scene and talks about his journey from forming bands with former members of Marilyn Manson and Dead Kennedys, to his being in legendary goth band London After Midnight (where he ran onstage in Germany in a thong) to joining Stitched Up Heart and going from touring in a cramped van, to playing barns in Louisiana, to playing on cruise ships, opening for Godsmack and Steel Panther to performing in festivals worldwide (including a recent one where due to weather they headlined in lieu of Guns N Roses). He explains how COVID affected a plan push for the band and stranded him in England for a time and how there is new Stitched Up Heart music on the way and 2023 will be a big year for the band

Rosalee grew up in a small town in Louisiana and then became a very successful fashion model in Paris.  She was fired by Versace in a most unusual way which led to her being the most successful "mom" in advertising, filming over 300 commercials and working with stars such as Leslie Nielsen, Shirley MacLaine and Bill Murray, with whom Rosalee found herself trapped in a closet with. She also talks about starring in the cult movie The Lawnmower Man, and how she found herself again in stand-up comedy where she can tame even the rowdiest and dirtiest crowds in LA and beyond with her sharp wit and stage presence.

Charles Rosenay the author of The Book of Top 10 Horror Lists joined Mark and a pigtailed Nicole for quite a fun show

Charles grew up in the Bronx, though he became an incongruous Mets Fan. He was also a big fan of the Beatles, The Monkees, and Universal Horror Films, which led him to be a DJ, play Davy Jones in a Monkees cover band, and put on horror and pop culture conventions WAY before their current popularity which gave him is alter ego the horror host Cryptmaster Chucky. He goes through what he learned makes a good convention from his successes and failures. He started the Liverpool Beatles tour which led him to start the Dracula Tour in Transylvania which leads you to the lairs of Dracula, Vlad the Impaler and possible ghosts in the basement (!). He took his love of horror to the book which features lists from William Shatner, Jane Weidlen of the GoGos,The Amazing Kreskin, Boris Karloff's daughter, Ed Asner and many others.

Nicole shared her list as well, with surprising results...
