In this episode of The Daryl Perry Podcast I dive into the idea of experts and how that label plays out in podcasting, social media, and everyday conversations. We live in a time where everyone seems to position themselves as an expert, yet many contradict each other with completely different perspectives. I share my own take on how experience shapes opinion, why no single approach is the only way, and how important it is to stay curious about how others navigate their own journeys.
I also talk about how this connects back to fitness, body image, and self-acceptance. My philosophy is one way of approaching things, but not the only way. Through my own story, including living with cerebral palsy, decades of experience in fitness, and years in marketing, I’ve seen that what really matters is developing your own perspective, being open to learning from others, and rejecting the constant push to argue or convince.
This is a conversation about embracing your story, questioning absolutes, and understanding that growth comes not from being told you’re wrong but from figuring things out on your own.

Episode Description
In this episode of The Daryl Perry Podcast I share my thoughts on podcast clips, lead magnets, and why I take a different approach than most content creators. While short clips and “ethical bribes” are popular in marketing, I explain why they don’t feel aligned for me and how I focus instead on giving people the full context of what to expect.
I talk about why podcasting works best as a space for nuance, connection, and authenticity, and why I’d rather let you know upfront what the day-to-day looks like here than try to hook you with a highlight reel. The same goes for my daily email, which I designed to be action-focused so that you know exactly what you’re signing up for. My goal is to remove obstacles and make sure you know what to expect from me, whether that’s in an episode, an email, or any other part of YLF.
This episode is about clarity, consistency, and building genuine trust with your audience. If you know what you’re signing up for and it resonates with you, then you’re in the right place.

Episode Description
In this episode of The Daryl Perry Podcast I explore what it means to have ambition beyond the labels and categories that people see on the surface. We all carry titles and roles, whether it’s parent, spouse, employee, or creator, but there’s more to each of us than what can be neatly checked off or curated online.
I share my perspective on how social media pushes us to present pieces of ourselves while the deeper layers often remain hidden. These layers, the parts of who we are that don’t always make it into our content or conversations, are where our true ambitions can be found. It’s easy to get caught in distractions and lose touch with who we really are, but stepping back to ask what we want beyond the boxes can help us rediscover our identity.
This conversation is about looking past surface level categories, understanding the layers of people, and reflecting on what truly drives you outside of the roles that everyone else sees.

Episode Description
In this episode of The Daryl Perry Podcast I dive into a simple but powerful concept, doing the opposite. When you’re stuck, frustrated, or just not happy with how things are going, sometimes the most impactful first step is to flip what you’ve been doing. It sounds obvious, but breaking away from old routines can open the door to real growth.
I share how comfort keeps us tied to patterns even when they don’t serve us, and why identifying frustration isn’t enough on its own. Change happens when you’re willing to step into something different, even if it’s just testing the opposite of what you’re used to. Often the answer isn’t at one extreme or the other, but somewhere in the middle. This episode is about giving yourself permission to experiment, break monotony, and discover the opportunities waiting for you in between.

Episode Description
In this episode of The Daryl Perry Podcast I reflect on the evolution of this show and why I decided to bring back episode numbers. This feed has grown into more than just a collection of audio files, it’s a living record of my journey and the journey of Your Level Fitness. From short three-minute segments on the Anchor app to interviews, spin-offs, and nearly two thousand episodes, this podcast has been about one thing, consistency.
I share how podcasting has taught me skills, opened up opportunities, and built connections, all while serving as an audio journal where I can go deeper than I ever could on social media. You’ll hear about the ups and downs, the bursts of creativity, the times I stepped away, and the lessons that come from simply sticking with something over the long haul.
As I look back on what started in January 2018 and where we are today, the message is clear, you never know where a small start might take you. I’d love to hear from you about something you’ve started, something you’re thinking about starting, or how consistency has shown up in your life.

In this episode of The Daryl Perry Podcast, I dig into one of the most important parts of the fitness and life journey, which is learning to love the body you have and the person underneath. I share why so many people go through physical changes like losing weight or building muscle but still feel unfulfilled, and why it’s crucial to focus on appreciation and self-acceptance right now instead of waiting until you hit a goal weight or body composition.
We talk about the difference between changing out of self-loathing versus changing from a place of appreciation, and why being in the driver’s seat of your own change matters so much. Change is a constant in life, but the roots of that change will determine if it leaves you with lasting fulfillment or an empty feeling even after you’ve accomplished what you set out to do.
I also explain why social media often doesn’t show the nuance behind these conversations, and how I use this podcast as a place to expand on those ideas. More than anything, I want you to push forward, pursue the things that matter, and build from a place of loving and appreciating yourself every step of the way.

In this episode of The Daryl Perry Podcast, I dive into the balance of living with appreciation while also having ambition. Too often, people confuse appreciation with complacency, when in reality it’s the foundation for sustainable growth. Without appreciation, no achievement will ever feel like enough.
I share why operating from a calm, appreciative headspace not only helps you achieve more but also keeps you from living in a mental prison of constant chasing. At the same time, ambition is still necessary, and I discuss how to align your goals without falling into distraction. I even touch on a personal rabbit hole of mine, dead mall videos, to show how easy it is to get sidetracked if we aren’t intentional.
This is about learning to appreciate where you are, while still moving forward each day. When you can hold both appreciation and ambition, you will find more peace, more progress, and more fulfillment in life.

In this episode of The Daryl Perry Podcast, I talk about how confidence always begins with a choice. From a young age, many of us take on labels and beliefs that others project onto us, and without realizing it, we reinforce them for years. But just as we have been reinforcing the negative, we can also choose to build ourselves up with kindness, compassion, and belief in who we are.
I share why trusting yourself comes before credentials, achievements, or outside validation. You decide that you belong first, then you reinforce it through your actions and continued growth. Confidence is not about waiting until you feel ready. It is about choosing to believe in yourself, reinforcing that belief daily, and trusting that you will figure things out along the way.
If you have been wrestling with fear of failure, imposter syndrome, or feeling like you do not measure up, this is your reminder that it starts with a decision. You choose it. You build it. And you live it.

In this episode of The Daryl Perry Podcast, I share a message about not losing yourself in today’s world, even with everything going on around you. If you’re someone who is sensitive, optimistic, kind, or compassionate at your core, hold on to that. Build the layers and armor you need, but do not change who you truly are.
I also talk about how the online space can distort reality, and why curating your feed is so important for your well-being. Puppies, humor, and shared interests like ice cream can be simple ways to reset and reconnect with what makes you feel good. This is a reminder to choose and over either/or, and to look for commonalities that spark curiosity and connection.
Don’t let the perceived world take you away from yourself. Instead, look for ways to keep building the future you want, starting with your own perspective and actions.

In this episode of The Daryl Perry Podcast I talk about the importance of owning your story every single part of it The ups the downs the choices you made and the choices you didn’t make are all part of who you are today Too often we allow negative labels from others or even ones we’ve placed on ourselves to keep us stuck This is about deciding to let go of those labels and create your own
Life moves forward whether we are ready or not The question is will you move forward with it Owning your story means embracing both the dark and light parts while choosing to live from a place of acceptance and strength My hope is that this conversation helps you feel ready to step into your story with confidence and begin creating the labels and the life you truly want
