The Dave Weekly

This week comedy heavyweights Greg Davies and Jason Byrne fight it out for the attention of our Ben as we discuss insulting fathers, giant Yorkshiremen and Jason's dodgy eye. We've also got a preview of Dave's brand new show, Driving Wars and of course we have a little chat about The Inbetweeners. GILBERT!

Someone must have turned up the radiators in the Dave mansion - it's getting hot in here. Chris Addison, slinky stand-up and star of The Thick Of It, denies torrid speculation on the part of Ben Shires that he's the thinking woman's top totty whilst Balls of Steel prankster Olivia Lee talks shaggable co-stars and gives Ben her 'get out of my bed eyes'. Plus a nation mourns as the @Pronger69 Twitter challenge thumps to a climax and the lucky winners are showered in special gifts.

It's an animal themed episode this week as crazy Canadian comic Craig Campbell joins Ben Shires to discuss fox sex and badger killing. Donal takes a trip to Oxford to see if any of the students are better at presenting than young Ben and there's a cheeky preview of our brand new 'Made by Dave' shows. Plus, listen out for details on how you can win an iPad 2 with our Facebook competition.

An outrageous case of flirting breaks out in The Dave Weekly this week as Paul Foot makes presenter Ben jealous by making eyes at another man, discussing his nether regions and cheating in the quiz. And, "because of all the vaginas" our legal team have asked us to say that it "contains adult material". Plus, Donal Coonan puts his jealousy of Ben Shires to one side as he takes the podcast to the commuters to drum up support for the show.

Multi-award winning comedian Russell Kane joins Ben to discuss his new tour, his new DVD and his techniques for creating the illusion of "length". We're also blessed by Dr Buckles himself, Adam Buxton who tells us all about his wonderful beard and equally wonderful show, Bug. And of course there's news on pronger69 and an end of podcast quiz packed with awful puns.

Jo Brand joins Ben to discuss her new Dave show 'Jo Brand's Big Splash', sewers and old bovver boots. We also take a trip down the river to check out the Greenwich Comedy Festival. Plus, Ben starts our new campaign to get his Dad's Twitter feed up to 20 followers. Our lawyers have asked us to say that this "contains adult material". Exciting eh?

This week Ben is joined by Chortle's Student Comedian of the Year, Adam Hess and diminutive and surprisingly hairy stand-up, Tom Webb whose joke was awarded one of the best and worst gags at the Edinburgh fringe. Dave General Manager, Steve North also drops in to tell us all about the forthcoming new series of Argumental.

Ben Shires presents the first ever episode of The Dave Weekly from the Edinburgh Fringe with guests Ray Peacock and Ed Gamble, Dave's Funniest Joke of the Fringe winner, Nick Helm plus Alex Horne, Steve Hall and Rob Deering.

Listen to the trailer of The Dave Weekly. Episode 1 will be available to download from Friday 26th August.
