Welcome back. Lochlin is VERY angry at the Trudeau government for the new "wealth tax." He owns multiple homes and's now voting for PeePee because Trudeau raised the capital gains tax by 17% for any transaction over $250k.
We discuss the purpose of wealth tax, its effect on real estate, and affordability. We also discuss how Lochlin has no desire to "take it in the hoop" anymore, but do we feel sorry for the extremely wealthy who have to pay their fair share of taxes? And why the FUCK are we not going after tax-dodging corps like Lobaws, who hide hundreds of million in taxes from the CRA.
Tim Horton's introduced a new pizza, and it sucks. Not one positive review from anyone who's tried it makes us wonder wtf happened to this once proud institution.
Playoff hockey is upon us, and we have a Leafs/Bruins first-round series. Dean is putting money on the Leafs losing in 7 because that happens yearly. Sharp money has Bruins in seven, and so does the comedic money.

Welcome Back!
It's a big day here at the #DBS:
Lochlin is prepping to take his Yoga Teacher Training. Aside from being a hard-drinking, calf-roping, hearty 54-year-old man from Alberta, he's in touch with his sensitive side and has decided to become a Yoga Teacher! Lisa from Kootany Yoga School joins us to take Lochlin through what his plant-based, alcohol-free, neon dance party/two-week Yoga retreat in the desert looks like! (If he's a good boy, he gets to blow bubbles and sit in a hammock with his Yoga Buddy)
Brandon Currie from Sun Life Financial joins us to discuss the Trudeau Government's unveiling of a new budget today that includes a hefty tax on the wealthiest people in Canada (and corporations, too).
- Who pays?
- Who ACTUALLY will end up paying?
- Threshold for wealth tax
- Where to find cheap booze and the reaction of the average Canadian to the idea the Government might go after Corporate greed.
We end with some fun Trump news, talk about Sophie Trudeau's new book and an exciting line about how Justin wasn't "meeting her needs."
I feel his pain.

Today we meet Jonathan MacSween the Area Sales Manager for Owens Corning. Our partner Stacey from Ardent Roof Systems is a Platinum Preferred Contractor for Owens Corning and we talked about that distinction and their shared passion to give back to the communities they work and live in! On the topic of that you can still sign up for The Ardent Roof Systems Charity Golf Tournament here: https://www.ardentroofsystems.com/
Sign up before the end of April to take advantage of early pricing!
We also have a VERY intriguing conversation with Frank Graves. Frank is the founder of EKOS Research. He's an interesting follow on twitter (@VoiceOfFranky). We get into disinformation, climate change, foreign interference, the politics of resentment, and why Lochlin is smarter than Dean.
Frank is a fascinating guest...we definitely will have him back!

Why was Lochlin featured on Mexican TV this week? Dean was blown away by the eclipse, and are Loc and Dean into astrology now?
Is it still OK to make fun of OJ now that he's dead (YES)? Tips on identifying a true narcissist, and why these individuals end up in positions of power.
Will you be watching The Masters with Dean and Loc this weekend, and who are the biggest dicks in golf!
We wrap up with an interesting conversation about raising kids!
Have a fantastic weekend!

MOSCROP is back.
He's thinking of going back to school to be a super doctor. You can't get MORE education after your doctorate, but David wants to try.
He also wants to talk about being allowed to do whatever content he wants, and if that means talking to "Conservatives" or "Right Wing" humans, he will, and you can kiss the roundest part of his ass.
David writes for everyone from the Globe to WaPo, and sometimes, keeping tabs on Bullshit takes its toll. David, Dean, and Lochlin talk about steps they take to protect themselves from the onslaught of stupidity from all sides of the spectrum and how to stay focused and disciplined when creating content as a journalist. And how people who are not journalists can protect themselves from the "DIRGE" of information and low IQ bullshit meant to separate you from your happiness.
We talked about those "keys" to personal happiness, too. David and Dean got into the cognitive benefit of ancient wisdom - specifically Stoicism. The discipline and practice of responding to what you can control and responding to what you can't for your own emotional and mental benefit.
We also got into some political bullshit because Uber cocck Alex Jones keeps endorsing Canada's version of Donald Trump - PeePee. Yes, there are some endorsements you don't want. Unless you're Pierre Poilievre, he'll take an endorsement from anyone with more than 100k email addresses he can add to his list of people who beg for money.
We finished with a ranking of David's favorite candy bars (Big Turk), which bothers Dean.
We capped it off with a VERY cool conversation about how to remain emotionally calm in the face of titanic-sized cultural bullshit when the world wants to make you angry - Stoicism and the ancients knew the score.

Dean and Loc have known Steve Coady for 100 years! Coady worked in the Record Business for 30 years. He was on to promote Hockey Helps The Homeless, but we also ended up telling Radio and Record war stories!
Coady shares a cool Nickelback story. He confirms Loc's Disturbed Leaked Record Story! So he's NOT full of shit?!?!
And we discuss who's dumber; Radio People or Musicians.
Here's the link if you want to throw a couple bucks at Steve and Hockey Helps The Homeless: https://hhth.akaraisin.com/ui/BAYSTREET/p/263dede1d546430aafaca459530c83e4

Pete Creek jumps on the podcast today!
Dean blocked Pete, and that's how they met. They stump for the same shit, truth, fun, and no matter the culture, assholes are assholes.
We got into:
- Canadian media does not fact-check politicians, businesses, or people they want access to. The problem it causes when we legitimize lies as "Politics" is total bullshit.
- Pete's problem with people who think memes are news.
- People who think disagreeing on something means you have to be enemies.
How funny is it to watch average humans accept a funny picture or video as truth without checking anything? It's very funny. People who lie about facts tell us how to feel and then tell us they'll save us from that lie.
We got into Auston Matthews being the NHL's two-way GOAT.
Not McDavid. Not Gretzky. Not Orr. Auston Matthews is the best player in the history of the NHL, and watching him every night should cost THOUSANDS.
We discovered the Alberta Accent and discovered it's illegal to sell 4 liters of off-brand vodka in a 4l milk jug. The hard way.

Dean and Lochlin's friend, Zoey, is back on the show to discuss the danger of being a Trans Trucker in the southern US.
Zoey is an advocate and normal human being who gets sick of the extreme trans shit. There's always a shitty group that misrepresents the whole. Zoey hates Caitlyn Jenner, misinformed assholes, and anyone who politicizes her or anyone's sexuality.
We asked Zoey if she missed her penis, and she filled us in on Boob shaving, so that was cool.
We got into the eclipse for 9 minutes because it was the first total solar eclipse in 400 years, and we (Toronto) got the world's most incredible view. Good thing it's cloudy, and we can't see shit.
We finish with a RIP to Dean's relationship with Tim Horton's. He's sad because that was his first coffee and donut at 14. That was his final experience at the once proud coffee chain - he's not alone.
