my daughter asked why there has never been a girl president. i was speechless which is rare. it got me thinking about the death of our dreams and are there more dreams projected on us as women than there are men. are we recovering from the death of dreams we never had, therefore, placing us in spaces of impossibility?

speaking of dreams. i do not want you to dream and not do. today we are talking about setting yourself up to take steps. those steps come from backing in to your dreams. break it down...all the way down.

sure accountability is a piece of you finding the right fit but don't lose track of holding the other side accountable as well.

hey there just living proof that not all journeys come without failure. i am telling you as i ate the nutella on white bread i remembered how i had just done so great and now i suck?....really. that is just it. you will not get it right 100% of the time it is about outlasting the wrong and doing the best you can given your current situation and build up. build up on a foundation of health.

sometimes it will take a grind. like a HARD one. your hustability (not a word) will carry your past anything but you have to be willing to show up as a sacrifice. a sacrifice of self. be willing to look silly. to get it wrong. to fail. and get back up.

the entire world prior to leaving school had wins built in every four to six months. you were celebrated you had a line in the sand and a level up opportunity. then you leave that and....nothing. no wonder we all wander feeling lost and disengaged and looking to belong and for purpose. we were built in a world that doesn't align with actual operation.

we put a lot of pressure on our 18-year-old selves to get it right for our life. choose right then and there and any deviation from that vision at that moment is perceived as a failure. i know my life as i saw it was going to be a golden ticket based on my athletic ability and i audaciously dreamed that path would unlock all the doors. when that didn't i shrunk in all forms. i didn't have a strong pivot from the death of my dream.

more than anything you have to be willing to shoot your shot. you never know how it might end up but start setting up these first steps in the pursuit of your dreams as opportunities to better navigate. be present as you move forward in this space not always looking for the monetization of the relationship but for the relationship and connection and opportunity to perfect your space in your craft. the risk will always pay off it is how you present it back to yourself.

the one with the work you are called to do. i know it is a challenge to stay with it. that space the one that is your life blood. the one you would wake up everyday for that is the one i want you to go after.
