I really REALLY never want to run out of patience...but admittedly, I'm not sure how. I'm really going to try however, and try hard. I think the audio here might be a bit strange because of a bluetooth speaker that was attached to the phone mistakenly, but hopefully it's still a worthy listen.

This one has been a long time coming. I don't know how to introduce this other than to say that there are times that I have felt like the side effect of a lot of people's collective brain fog, or like I don't matter. And it feels like my fault, so I wanted to get some things off of my chest, and out into the open so that I can process them. I apologize for the audio on this one, but the A/C where I re-recorded this was humming and buzzing while I tried to record, however I am so passionate about what I wanted to talk about, I didn't want it to come across as rambly, which my first recording admittedly did. So Canon Events...how do they shape us? How do they make us who we are? Admittedly, today's recording was a little messy, however I feel like the message was important so I went with it. I recently uploaded a Tik Tok that by my standards did pretty well, and this morning I had a comment on it that was easier left just unsaid, and even then it had me wondering why? So I thought, for probably the 7th or 8th time that I can remember, we should chat a bit about validation, and when we need that external validation, what do we do?

I have a tendency to immediately default to struggling with something once I "job-ify" it. It's not that I have a poor work ethic, it just becomes difficult to measure success against failure, when failure feels so permanent and success feels so temporary. This was going to be a different type of episode, but admittedly I was emotionally charged after watching Across the Spiderverse that I re-recorded a bunch of the reasons why I felt a break was necessary. My hope is that you guys take some self awareness away from this and hopefully can realize when you are approaching a breaking point, and can get some perspective on when and why you should be taking breaks, and taking them often. There is still so much left unsaid but it felt amazing to get this all off of my chest. I love y'all.

I feel like a lot of the time, I speak on connection: how I connect, how we connect to each other, different ways in which we stay connected in a digital space. BUT, why shouldn't I disconnect...or why shouldn't we disconnect? Why does letting go of certain things make me feel guilty? And do you feel the same way? I feel like I've touched on this before, but I wanted to chat about it again...and maybe offer some of the more positive sides of disconnecting, and letting go.

Lately I have been thinking about how I tend to use an offer of assistance as an introduction. Hell, in one of my most active communities, the first thing I ever said was a "backseat gaming" comment and now that creator and I are wonderful friends. That said, it is hard to read when I am trying to be helpful and whether or not it is working, or even warranted or wanted. So, I decided I would try to unpack it a little bit...and I can say this is one that we will definitely be coming back to.

Today's episode is kind of a dive into the wor 'impress' and why for a long time I was obsessed with it. The reality is that impressing can create the implication that if you are not being impressive then you are not doing enough, which depending on the circumstances, is just flat out wrong. I often find myself saying: "what did I do to (this person) to make them feel (this emotion)?" and I think that has come from an unhealthy place of trying so hard to impress people that may not care one way or the other about what I'm doing. Time to confront this head on, and try to learn something from it.
