Welcome Scorpio season!

The witchiest season of the year is here friends, and in these new few weeks ahead we have so much planetary support guiding us into flow, release, cathartic clearing, and deep integration and healing. Welcome to a very special episode! My incredible and inspirational mom, Joan Maloney, joins me to share a little of her backstory – the journey it took for her to get from small town book worm, to receptionist/delivery driver, to thriving business woman with a highly successful graphic design studio.

In this episode she shares stories about her resiliency – from navigating sexual harassment, to starting a business in the midst of physical recovery from back to back car accidents, to running a studio while parenting a young daughter.

I’m thrilled to be sharing this episode describing the pillars of what living a Designed Life means - the practices, processes, perspectives, etc. For so many years I’ve been operating with these pillars in my life and they’ve been infused into my work, but only recently did they fully coalesce into these principles.

The main 3 that operate in a cycle are:

3. ​Water what you want to grow – cultivation

This cycle is then supported by 4 secondary pillars, each connected to a different element:

How often do we carve out time, to then only use it by succumbing to distraction or squandering it with petty little projects? How often do we arrive at a moment of spaciousness only to then not feel capable of immersing ourselves fully into it?

In this episode I layout my schedule for the two weeks I'll be on a solo self-guided retreat – the projects I plan to work on, the books I plan to read, and the activities I plan to enjoy.

I recorded this episode at 10pm the night before I flew out because I was having a lot of creative blocks around what I wanted to share this week and it took me awhile to arrive on this topic. But as I was journalling (in an attempt to stay up all night to get to the airport at 4am) the idea of sharing how I'll be using my time during this solo experience felt timely and relevant.

So also please know that it's not the most structured and cohesive eps I've ever recorded!

Everyday fear (not the kind of fear that arises when we're actually physically in danger) can sometimes operate under the surface – informing our decisions, directing our responses, and moving us in specific directions with us really knowing it.

Especially when we're in the middle of big life transitions and transformations, fear of not knowing what's ahead is naturally likely to crop up.
