Man oh man, for someone it’s Christmas as we announce our Bordercon winner on this weeks show!

Also, yes also, we have a sneak peak of Mark’s interview with Stephen Buonocore from Stronghold Games before going through a quick fire chat about winner of the BGG Golden Geek most innovative game, best thematic game, best boardgame artwork and presentation, as well as the Game of the Year, Root!! What a show!! We’re excited!!!

This week, we’re LIVE from the Big Apple! Well, nearly, as Leon says hello from his trip to New York before Garth and Mark take the reigns and gallop through the 2018 Golden Geek Awards that just got announced!

Mark tests Garth’s expert powers of prediction – so listen in to hear success and/ or failure live on air! And you know what? That fills up the episode! There are 10 categories to go through and millions of games to discuss so that will just have to do as an hour just seems to fly by!

Garth and Mark have the Edge airwaves all to themselves this week, and so they take the opportunity, in Leon’s absence, to talk about his newly arrived Mega-Kickstarter hit from Gamelyn Games, Heroes of Land, Air and Sea. This is probably the most the two of them have disagreed in many, many episodes, and in fact the argument continues to this day! Mark also has the latest news from the GAMA Trade Fair, as well as some other new release information. All that, and the final chance to enter our Bordercon giveaway, will fill your aural canals for almost an hour.

Charge!!! And by charge we mean shuffle meeples across the board fighting circles of cardboard in the game that is Crusaders: Thy Will be done by Seth Jaffee and TMG. Trust us when we say, it is much more exciting than we made it sound.

So many things in life deserve a second chance, and for Leon one of those things is Terraforming Mars…which is the focus of our chat this week. Of course Leon needed some expert help so he reached out to good friend of the show, Melissa Rogerson, to help him decide if he was wrong about this game for all these years. Mark drones on AND on AND on about a recent trip to Melbourne and mainly his new love affair with Queen of Spades, a gaming cafe that has stolen his heart and might just be everything he ever wanted.
