I got a chance to sit down with Lucian Khan and talk about quarantine life in NY. His early game roots with NES, and playing "secret" Vampire the masquerade games! Lucian is the creator of Dead Friend RPG (it's about necromancy!) and he's wrapping up Visigoths Vs. Mall Goths RPG. We talk about his approach to micro-creations and macro-creations. Lucian and I play in a Liminal RPG game on twitch with the folks from Off the Table where he plays a werewolf priest that is all about the forbidden books - it's fantastic!

In Champions Now Edwards talks about the Now, the stuff that's already in action at the start of a session. We are 'playing it cool' with the Now in this session. There are several conversations our anti-hero Kurt has with the authorities and one  Charles requested to see play out. And a cliffhanger ending!

Creed "Kat" makes another appearance this issue. You know I'm an X-Man fan. I find Sabretooth fascinating in all his incarnations. Creed is inspired by Sabretooth. In Big Damn Hero we already know she was part of the super-villain group Kurt left and is hunted by. We also know they had a thing. Creed comes from a situation on  Kurt's sheet:

She's built out as a super and has situations.

These are all bad, awful, terrible for Kurt! Just having Creed hanging out is trouble! For me, a character's situations are much more grabby than the powers built. It's like I have TWO cool sets of toys.

The Witness Protection Services in Spokane, WA. gets a brand new client. Kurt Renfro. He's a mid-level super-villain F.K.A Bone from the east. He's settling into his new life in the WitSec program.

Welcome to our run of Champions Now by Ron Edwards and Hero Games. Charles Picard is playing Kurt Renfro. We start with me monologuing about what we're doing then Charles and I jump right into our first session of Champions Now.
