What do you do when God is calling you forward, but you’re not sure you’re ready?

Joshua knew that feeling. Moses was gone. The responsibility of leading God’s people now rested on his shoulders, and the future included challenges he had never faced before. Yet God didn’t tell Joshua to become another Moses. He gave him something better, a promise: “The LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

In this sermon from Joshua 1:1–9, Pastor Jason Barnett explores what it really means to “be strong and courageous.” Biblical courage isn’t pretending you aren’t afraid or convincing yourself that you’re strong enough. It comes from trusting God’s presence, staying rooted in His Word, and taking the next faithful step.

Have you ever begged God for something good only to hear "no"?

Moses had faithfully followed God for forty years. He led Israel out of Egypt, endured their complaints, and brought them to the edge of the Promised Land. Yet when he asked God for one final request, to cross the Jordan, but God refused.

Why?

In this message from Deuteronomy 3:23-29, Pastor Jason explores one of the most difficult conversations in Scripture. Sometimes God doesn't remove the hardship. Sometimes He doesn't change our circumstances. Instead, He changes us through them.

Moses came down from Mount Sinai looking different. So different that the people were afraid to come near him.

After spending time in God's presence, Moses carried the visible evidence of that encounter. But instead of using that transformation to push people away, he adjusted his approach so they could hear and respond to God's message.

Moses had already seen miracles, heard God’s voice, and experienced His presence in extraordinary ways. But it still was not enough.

In Exodus 33:18–23, Moses makes one of the boldest requests in Scripture: “Show me your glory.”

God tells Moses something devastating: “I will not go with you."

After Israel’s rebellion with the golden calf, God warns Moses that His presence cannot remain among a stiff-necked people without consuming them. But instead of backing down, Moses responds with boldness and confidence in prayer.
