We often think there are Super Christians who have it all together. Katie Eubanks is editor of Mississippi Christian Living magazine. She has had her struggles and doubts in her faith. She had a crisis of faith and then finally put those questions down and placed her faith in Jesus Christ. She was encouraged to continue to ask questions which has deepened her faith. Now her ministry allows others the ability to share their stories.

"Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due. And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness," ‭‭Romans‬ ‭4‬:‭4‬-‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Interview of Emily Hardin this week who is a part of Red Door Jackson, a ministry of mentorship in her neighborhood. She talks about the abundant life to which God has called us. Jesus called us make disciples "as we are going."

Meet two people who were forever changed by the love shown to them by the Baptist Children's Village. Bobby's father had left and his mother told the judge she wanted nothing to do with him. God placed Chrystelle and her 9 siblings into this home when she was 16. God has not forgotten the widows and the orphans. He is the father to the fatherless, and he provides family for the lonely.

"A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land." ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭68‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This is a wonderful interview with Julie Wardlaw telling her story of loss of a child and then her precious family afterward. What a great testimony of faith. Her family is a beautiful picture of the gospel…..God's adopted family.

Why has there been such a spike in suicide in the past 5-10 years? 9 percent of all students in grades 9-12 have attempted suicide in the past twelve months (The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention). Adolescents are bombarded daily by a world telling them WHO they should be and how to project the right IMAGE. Preston Crowe, a counselor and minister, helps us examine the crisis of suicide as well as depression and anxiety. How should we as Christians respond?

This is an amazing story of unconditional love with Heath Ferguson, chaplain at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. He talks about Jesus pursuing him through a very difficult childhood and showing him what true unconditional love is. Wow! What a radical transformation.

Romans 5:5…. "and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us."

Ashley has walked through tremendous trauma and tells how Jesus redeemed her. The creator rescued her and called her by name.

Drugs are an incredible force of evil against our children. I sat down with Angie Mullins who shares her story as a mother who lost a son to overdose. In the midst of crying out to God, Angie says, "great is thy faithfulness. His mercies are new every day and God is generous with them. Every day there is a new wellspring of goodness that God intends for me."

"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." ‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭3:22-23

This is interview with my husband Joel about his life growing up fatherless. Putting this out a week early hoping to remind people of the fatherless around them so that they might give them an extra hug. Our Lord is a fierce defender of the fatherless and says "Don't mess with them!!"
