Last month marked a significant anniversary for one of my creative projects: it had been a decade since the workshop production of my play The Maple Leaves at SpringWorks.
Part of my intention with the podcast was to reflect on some of my creative works and what the process was like and the key things I learned and took forward into future creative projects, so it felt like the perfect opportunity to do exactly that for The Maple Leaves.
In this episode, I share:
The origin of the play and reflect on how we often stumble upon our big, transformative ideas.
The importance of greenlighting your own work.
How we as artists can come up against our own limitations.
The way disappointment and immense gratitude can co-exist and be held around a particular creative project. The Dumbells - Canadian Encyclopedia (https://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/the-dumbells-emc)
