In a world that encourages us to think/act/be like everyone else, it can be super scary to have a different opinion. After all, humans are pack animals. We want more than anything to belong to the tribe. Naturally an adaptive desire, in today's modern society it is a disaster. Our systems have stripped us of our critical thinking & we're constantly triggered which means we have no resources to do anything but defend threats and/or pick fights. In this depleted state, we just go along with whatever everyone else is doing because it's easier and saves us energy in the short term. In the long term however, we create massive incongruence which is correlated with a whole whack of less than stellar outcomes.
In this week's episode of The How to Feel Good Podcast, I'm talking about how I've learned to honour myself by holding unpopular opinions without them destroying my life, and how you can build up your own ability to do the same!

We're living in a society that is designed to make us feel badly about ourselves so that we buy things. We're overworked, under rested and constantly striving to be 'better'. From this place of radical acceptance and genuine self love, you can legit achieve anything!

In this episode of The How to Feel Good Podcast, I'm talking about why we need to do hard things in order to live a fufilled life. Challenge and adversity help us build resilience and strength, but it definitely not easy to override your brain's protective measures. We meet so much resistance to doing these things because from an evolutionary standpoint, it's risky to do things that are different or challenging!

Every year millions of people set New Year's Resolutions, most doomed from the get-go based on the fact that they are rooted in a literal shit-ton of negative affect. We feel the pressure to 'be better', like we 'should' or 'have to' change & we're putting all of our attention onto things that we don't like about ourselves. This sends a whole whack of less than stellar energy into the universe, effectively creating a self-fufilling prophecy of failure, sealing our fate for another year.

You guys, shit is whack! We are witnessing absolutely unprecedented times. With so much uncertainty, stress & straight up fear mongering it's no wonder that so many of us are feeling overwhelmed. In this episode I share my greatest gift: the ability to stay cool as a cucumber despite even the worst circumstances. This is not something that came naturally to me, but rather a skill that I've developed over the past few years. The existence we know as modern society is contrived asf. On the surface things look great as we go about our days, faking it til we make it as they say. But deep down we're all dealing with massive incongruence, or a kind of grating against our natural state of being. We've been disconnected from truly knowing ourselves and stuffed into a one-size-fits-all system that does not have our best interests at heart. In this week's episode I'm sharing my personal experience of breaking free from this myth and how you can do the same thing!

As a society we've been taught to use elevate intellectual thought over everything else. 'Use your head' to make decisions, not your heart (or soul for that matter). But in reality, our minds are not meant to make decisions at all! They are purely here to ensure our survival. When you make decisions with your head, you will 100% of the time be lead in the same direction you've always gone, away from taking risks of any sort and towards immediate comfort. While this ensures that we stay alive, it is no way to LIVE. In this week's episode I share my insights on this topic including my personal history with indecisiveness/clinical anxiety, as well as how you can find out your unique decision making authority and start living by design.
