In this week's episode we have Angel Diaz, CEO of Allegient Defense with headquarters in Arlington, Virginia!  They provide engineering and management expertise to the federal government and were recently acquired as a standalone company that will be growing at a much faster rate.  Angel is a Cuban American who originally is from Miami, Florida.  He comes from a second generation military family and joined the Navy at 17 years old and served for almost 9 years.  Always had the entrepreneurial spirit and started grinding at a young age in Miami.  He loves working with people and mentions how you cannot achieve success on your own, it is a team effort!  He shares how he structures his day and likes winning, and it is not only about winning but also not quitting and having the perseverance to continue moving forward.  Angel mentions how one should achieve and retain from our knowledge and experiences, and to be a successful entrepreneur you need to have a certain tolerance towards risk.

Alex Kutsishin is the Co-Founder and CEO of Sales Boomerang with headquarters in Owings Mills, Maryland.  The company was founded almost 5 years ago on Valentine's Day, their mission is to have no borrower left behind and shares what that means to them.  Alex was born in Kyiv, Ukraine and was 7 years old when he arrived to the Baltimore, Maryland area in 1990.  He has quite a story on how they left Ukraine when they opened their borders for Russian Jews to leave.  A born entrepreneur he helped his parents with the sales and marketing side of things once they opened a physical therapy practice in Baltimore, he eventually opened his own office Washington, DC.  He has been involved in several interesting businesses and shares his learning's of creating and doing what he loves.  It eventually led to the founding of Sales Boomerang with over 81 team members, being voted in the Inc. 5000, Deloitte Fast 500, and other awards and recognition's.  Alex mentions the significance of investing in great people and how at the end of the day to not overthink it and just start!  Do not miss this unforgettable story and episode, Alex is an overall amazing person that I had the great pleasure of getting you know and you should too!

In this week's episode we have Anil Karmel, Co-Founder and CEO of RegScale with headquarters in Tysons, Virginia!  They are compliance experts with executive experience in highly regulated industries.  He was born in New York City and grew up in the Chicago metro area.  He loved playing with technology at a young age thanks to the exposure from his father.  Anil spent 10 years of his career in Los Alamos, New Mexico which eventually led him to the Washington, DC area around 8 years ago to serve as the CTO (Chief Technology Officer) for the U.S. Nuclear Weapons Program.  He found a need when he kept on running into huge amounts of paperwork they used to build and insure the systems were compliant with the standards and regulations.  They knew they were many in regulated industries that needed to be compliant as well, there had to be a better way to solve the problem at scale and they found it with RegScale!  Anil shares some great entrepreneurial advice with anyone looking to start a company, focus on solving a problem and making a difference!

Jacob Hensley is the Founder and Owner of District Dogs with three locations in Washington, DC, one opening later this year, and a couple more opening in Virginia in the following years.  They are a pet care company in Washington, DC that offers doggy daycare, dog boarding, training, overnight pet sitting, dog walking, and more.  Jacob was as a quiet kid growing up in Kentucky spending a lot of time outdoors with animals and nature, playing and exploring in the creek catching bugs.  He knew he wanted to start his own business one day, and at 18 years old he immediately opened his first online brokerage account to start investing in the stock market.  He graduated college with a finance degree and right after college became a financial advisor for several years until 2014 when he formed District Dogs and left the financial industry at 26 years old.  District Dogs first started as a dog walking business with just himself and shares step by step how he grew the company and brand originally with grassroots marketing to what it is today with over 60 employees and will probably double in size within the next 12 months with their new locations!  Jacob talks about how to differentiate through brand and marketing and focus on the growth of your team.  He shares how they were able to pivot and grow through COVID and mentions some daily habits he utilizes to get things done, and most importantly many of this would not be possibly without being part of the community!

In this week's episode we have Angela Franco, President and CEO of the D.C. Chamber of Commerce.  Their mission is to be the most valuable resource and leading advocate for businesses in the nations capital, Washington, DC.  She was born in Berkeley, California and moved back to Bogota, Colombia when she was one year old.  Entrepreneurial at a young age, she started selling jewelry at 11 years old and created Christmas cards that she sold to her family and neighbors.  Learned about margin in a business when her father was her first investor and with those funds she was able to purchase jewelry wholesale and sell them retail.  Angela finished all of her schooling and Masters in Colombia deciding to move to the United States in her early 30's and start from scratch in a new country.  It was a humbling experience even though she had years of experience in the financial industry back home.  She now has decades of knowledge working with various financial institutions and business chambers in executive leadership roles. Angela mentions how if you focus on building a career you are always going to have a job.  She shares the strategic plan the D.C. Chamber of Commerce has developed with their four main pillars, government relations, programs, communication, and marketing - focusing on helping local businesses grow!  Angela talks about the the value in having mentors and your network, and how you can cultivate them!

Adam Levin is the CEO of Information Experts with headquarters in Tysons, Virginia!  They are a full service strategic marketing firm focusing in the SMB (Small Medium-size Business) space.  Adam is from Providence, Rhode Island and he was exposed to business at an early age by starting to work at his father retail stores during junior high school.  He was always into marketing that he decided to study business in college, and eventually moved to Northern Virginia to work with a distribution company.  Information Experts was originally started as a training company, they pivoted into a full fledged marketing company and talks about the ability to pivot if needed.  He shares how important it is having a physical routine and being mentally fit.  Adam mentions a great case study of a client and goes into details on what they implemented and how you can too, the results were great!
