The Do-Over Podcast

Stranger Things Season 5 is here, and things get weird fast.

We break down the biggest theories coming out of the new season, including the rise of goo-powered kids, Will’s evolving connection to the Upside Down, Vecna’s real endgame, and why time travel might be the most dangerous narrative choice the show could make. From Dream Warriors parallels to Hopper’s repeated sacrifice arc, we dig into what’s working, what’s risky, and why this season feels closer to Season 1 than anything we’ve seen in years.

From there, we hit the week’s biggest nerd and entertainment news. DC casting rumors heat up with Brainiac talk, James Gunn’s DCU direction gets debated, and the possibility of Mask of the Phantasm influencing The Batman Part II sparks real excitement. We also cover Denis Villeneuve’s preferred pick for the next James Bond, The Boys nearing its final season, God of War’s live-action casting questions, and why some studios keep overthinking adaptations.

Then the conversation turns into controlled chaos.

We break down the Warner Bros. acquisition battle involving Netflix and Paramount, what a hostile takeover actually means, why creatives should be worried, and which outcome is genuinely worse for the future of movies, TV, and jobs in the industry.

Finally, it’s NFL mayhem and fantasy football pain. From the Chiefs slipping, Packers vs Bears heating up, and playoff races tightening, to Elliott losing a playoff spot by 0.14 points and spiraling accordingly.

Also, Elliott’s hair becomes a recurring character. Heavy 80s energy. No apologies.

This episode is peak Do-Over chaos. It starts with a drive-thru bathroom emergency that turns into a clogged-toilet horror story, spirals into the reveal of the worst phone wallpaper anyone has ever chosen, and somehow evolves into anime arguments, MomTok scandals, medical panic, and a philosophical breakdown about nipples and aging.

We celebrate our one-year fired-iversary, debate whether public restrooms should be approached like crime scenes, review some of the most unhinged internet clips sent to the show, and try (and fail) to make sense of MomTok’s wild reunion. The crew goes from laughing at their own catastrophes to questioning their life choices in real time.

If you’re into long-form chaos, unfiltered storytelling, reality TV deep dives, anime beef, or the ongoing saga of Trying To Be Adults, this is one of the most chaotic episodes we’ve done this year.

Topics in this episode: MomTok drama updates, storytime disasters, bathroom horror stories, viral TikTok reactions, reality TV commentary, anime debates, Fruits Basket discussion, holiday food rankings, medical chaos, fired-iversary stories, funny podcast moments, 2025 pop culture commentary, and unhinged internet clips.
