The Do-Over Podcast is back with Drew and Darren for another completely unfiltered trip through dating, relationships, parenting, internet hate, nostalgia and the kind of conversations that somehow get way more serious—and way more ridiculous—than anyone intended.

After her last appearance got such a strong response, Tami Murakoshi calls back into the show with an update on her dating life and reveals her new approach heading into 2027: focus on getting fit, making money, and stop making men the priority. Naturally, Drew immediately begins planning the return of Tami and the possibility of letting the podcast help screen potential dates.

Then Darren tells the story of a friendly golf trip that went spectacularly uncomfortable when one friend finally snapped after receiving one piece of unsolicited real-estate advice too many. That conversation somehow leads into something considerably deeper: men showing emotion, crying in relationships, mental health, fatherhood and whether vulnerability is actually attractive—or an “ick.”

Then come the haters. Drew looks back at criticism from his radio and real-estate careers, why putting yourself publicly on the internet requires a thick skin, and why dismissing every negative comment as jealousy can be just as unhealthy as obsessing over them.

The guys also get into the changing world of radio and podcasting, why traditional radio has struggled in the era of on-demand media, and why broadcasters increasingly need to understand video, podcasts and digital content to survive.

And because this is The Do-Over Podcast, eventually everything devolves into GoldenEye, Oddjob, couch co-op, Dreamcast and the lost art of sitting in the same room screaming at your friends while playing video games.

Did Nintendo just leave clues that the long-lost third chapter of Zelda’s Hero of Time saga could finally happen? And have modern video games completely lost the plot chasing live-service money?

Drew and Royce are back at Groggs Traditional Irish Pub for another Taps & Takes, starting with Guinness, “splitting the G,” and a full-blown Zelda rabbit hole before things get progressively more ridiculous. The guys break down the theories surrounding the Ocarina of Time remake, Majora’s Mask, the missing third Hero of Time game, and whether Nintendo could actually be building toward something much bigger.

Then it’s time to talk about the state of gaming. Bungie is trying to win players back, Marathon may need a serious rethink, Destiny content is coming back, and Drew argues that gamers are finally reaching their breaking point with endless live-service games, microtransactions, and unfinished releases.

From there, Wolverine enters the conversation. Is ultra-violence enough to carry an entire game? Or is Wolverine actually the perfect “dad game”—something you can turn on, wreck some enemies for 20 hours, finish, and get back to real life? That turns into a painfully relatable conversation about getting older, having kids, and no longer having eight hours a day to grind through a video game.

The guys also revisit BioShock, explain why Monster Hunter’s difficulty is part of what makes it great, talk about the early buzz surrounding Resident Evil, and somehow finish with birthday presents, a child sleeping with a giant hammer, Laser Quest nostalgia, Great Danes, and one kid learning the hard way why you probably shouldn’t antagonize a dog.

How did any of us survive childhood?

This episode of The Do-Over goes completely off the rails as Drew, Royce and Darren trade some of the dumbest, funniest and most unbelievable stories they've ever told on the show.

Drew revisits his legendary road-trip bathroom disaster before somehow turning the conversation into an insane story about taking three sisters to a Queens of the Stone Age concert in San Francisco. Then Darren reveals why he currently has a CYST ON HIS EYEBALL, the guys debate getting older, late-night eating, marriage and the strange reality of finally getting the house to yourself when you have kids.

But then somebody asks the dangerous question:

What's the dumbest thing you've ever done that probably should have ki**ed you?

That leads to falling off construction equipment, swimming through culverts, a helmet literally preventing a potentially fatal injury, Drew's childhood ammunition story and another story involving a homemade explosive going off far sooner than expected. Seriously...how did we make it to adulthood?

Then it's reaction time: raccoons, Tesla drivers, ridiculous vanity plates, bizarre rare images, terrifying ocean currents, and Royce casually revealing that he honeymooned in the Maldives. Because apparently that's just a normal detail to casually drop into conversation.

This week on Taps & Takes, Drew and Royce are diving headfirst into the biggest conversations happening across movies, television and gaming — and asking one very important question: if you're going to remake something we already love… why not actually make it BETTER?

The guys kick things off with a completely reasonable argument about NFL players making millions of dollars and somehow still dropping footballs before Drew reveals that he's lost 14 pounds — even if apparently nobody can tell.

Then it's time for Lanterns, which Drew calls some of the best DC television of the James Gunn era. The guys break down why the show's slower, detective-inspired approach is working, whether its villains actually feel threatening enough, and why the series may be setting up something much bigger than it initially appears.

From there, things turn into a much bigger debate about remakes, adaptations and fan expectations. Resident Evil leads into Zelda, Halo, Final Fantasy VII, Sonic, Game of Thrones and the question of whether fans should really be the ones dictating creative decisions. When does respecting the source material become boring? And when does changing it become disrespectful?

Then Royce brings up Mistborn and Brandon Sanderson's approach to adapting his own work, sending the conversation into authors adapting their own stories, the insanity of Sanderson's writing output, Wheel of Time, George R.R. Martin and why Drew has a theory about the REAL reason The Winds of Winter still isn't finished.

This week on The Do-Over Podcast, Drew, Darren and Jess somehow go from coffee orders and youth sports to an almost-shootout, a movie theater fight, Sydney Sweeney, terrible real estate advice, billionaires becoming Batman and the scientific reason we might all be friends.

Jess starts things off with a casual solo trip to Panera and the movies that turns into watching police confront a man outside River Park. That sends Drew down memory lane to tell the absolutely insane story of a movie date where a suspicious stranger reached into a bag, threatened him and ended up getting sent down a flight of theater stairs.

Meanwhile, Darren returns after committing the unforgivable crime of missing the podcast to support his daughter at her first high-school cross-country race. She dominates, Darren discovers just how expensive a manicure and pedicure can be, and his weekend somehow continues into Giants baseball, youth soccer and getting a yellow card while coaching eight-year-olds.

Then things get even more Taps & Takes.

The crew dives into the Sydney Sweeney debate and whether we've reached a point where simply being conventionally attractive has somehow become controversial. Drew argues that Hollywood has always had sex symbols—and sometimes being ridiculously good-looking really is part of the job.

There's also a real-estate horror story involving a home inspection report that looks like it came straight out of 1972, more arguments about getting older, fantasy sports, parenting, billionaires, Batman, strange dreams and the realization that some of the strongest friendships may actually be built around hating exactly the same things.

It's inappropriate, unpredictable, occasionally insightful and completely off the rails.

AC disasters, Tesla problems, school fundraisers, getting older and one road trip story that ends in the absolute WORST possible way. Welcome to the Angry Old Man episode of Taps & Takes.

This week, Drew and Royce decided positivity was overrated and made a list of everything that pissed them off.

Royce's nightmare starts when his AC problems somehow get even worse. After dealing with broken units at both home and work, water starts pouring through his son's ceiling—and just when he thinks everything is finally fixed, another AC decides to quit.

Meanwhile, Drew makes a quick trip to Los Angeles that turns into an overnight endurance test involving traffic, Tesla charging problems, exhaustion, locked bathrooms, a desperate search for somewhere to pee…and one catastrophically bad decision involving a cup and an open car window.

Yes. It went exactly as badly as you're imagining.

Then the guys take on one of the great frustrations of modern parenthood: school fundraisers. Why are kids competing over who can raise the most money? Why does a “golden ticket” determine who gets the cool rewards? And when did a school jogathon start feeling like organized extortion? Royce's story escalates into Drew remembering a childhood fundraising rejection he apparently STILL hasn't emotionally recovered from.

This week on Taps & Takes, Drew and Royce dive into Nintendo, The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time, Metroid, Apple, foldable phones, AirPods, the eternal Apple vs. Android argument, and the dangerous power of convincing yourself that a $2,000 phone is somehow a reasonable purchase.

Drew explains why Ocarina of Time remains one of the most important games of his generation — and why simply making it prettier might be one of Nintendo's biggest missed opportunities. Should a legendary game be preserved exactly as people remember it, or should Nintendo actually take a chance and completely reimagine it for a new generation?

Then there's Nintendo's HUGE Zelda movie announcement… which probably could have just been an email.

Things take another turn when Apple enters the conversation. Drew immediately falls in love with the idea of a foldable iPhone while Royce tries to inject some financial common sense into the situation. That leads directly into Apple vs. Android, $2,000 phones, upgrade addiction, AirPods, the Apple ecosystem, green-text group chats and the realization that Apple may already own all of us.

Jess got a colonic, went wine tasting in Paso Robles, nearly blacked out, got kicked out of a bar AND confronted the manager… and somehow that still isn't the strangest part of this episode.
