As the race for the next Wisconsin Supreme Court justice election heats up, we’ll keep you updated. This week, Judge Brad Schimel’s campaign released an ad with an altered image of Judge Susan Crawford. Schimel’s campaign says they wanted to make Crawford appear “ashamed”. We say, if they want to see shame, just look in the mirror. The case raises concerns over not only the legality of using certain technologies to edit material for campaigns but also the appropriateness of it. If a campaign can use editing software to change a picture, why not use it to change the words spoken by their opponent? Where does this shameful act end?
In other shameful news, a Wisconsin man died of respiratory distress after being unable to afford his inhaler. The man, Cole, did not receive appropriate notice that his inhaler would no longer be covered, nor was he able to purchase an alternate drug according to the lawsuit his parents are filing. This is where for-profit healthcare gets us. Shameful.

The Morning Show on February 5 featured an update from the Richland County Board of Supervisors on the Richland County Campus Reconfiguration Project.
Guest: Phil NeeNick Ramos, executive director of the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, joins us to break down their formal ethics complaint against judge Brad Schimel. Schimel is also, of course, a candidate for Wisconsin’s highest court. And he’s been going around ‘joking’ about begging on his hands and knees for campaign support. Meaning money. He’s ‘joking’ about begging for money. As a judge. In direct violation of Wisconsin’s Supreme Court code of ethics. Nick joins us to discuss how and why WDC filed their complaint and what they hope to achieve with it. Beyond this apparent financial impropriety, Nick and Dom discuss another of Schimel’s concerning behaviors- pre-judging cases that are likely to appear before Wisconsin’s highest court. We’re especially concerned with his already well established position on Wisconsin’s 1849 abortion law.
We finish the hour turning to the once Proud Boys, you can call ’em the Broke Boys now. Or really you can call them anything except the Proud Boys, as they’ve lost ownership of their name in a bit of truly tasty just desserts.

Guests: Nick RamosMaggie Daun joins us for a bit of overtime. First up, let’s discuss Brad Schimel’s shameful shill of a campaign to be a Wisconsin Supreme Court justice. A taste here and then we’ll get into it more in our second hour. Schimel’s been out and about ‘joking’ about buying up stores of kneepads in order to go around on his hands and knees groveling and begging for money to fund his campaign. Of course, this would be in direct violation of judicial campaign ethics. Our friends at the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign filed an official complaint, we’ll be talking to their Executive Director, Nick Ramos, in the next hour.
Turning to the national stage, Trump’s administration faces a wave of lawsuits. In relation to DOGE, the supposed ‘Department of Government Efficiency’, federal employee unions sued. They assert that DOGE’s access to sensitive information, like social security numbers and other governmental employee info, is illegal.

Greater Richland Area Tourism Coordinator, Marty Richards, was on the Morning Show to talk to Phil Nee about upcoming events in Richland Center.
Harvey Kaye, Professor Emeritus of Democracy and Justice Studies at UWGB, and our favorite Delano Democrat joins us for the hour.
With chaos abounding from the national stage, we take this hour to talk history with Harvey Kaye. American history is complex. It’s messy. And it’s full of contradiction. Harvey urges us to grapple with all that American history contains. The good, the bad, and most certainly the ugly. If we try to paint our history is merely good or bad, we fall into a trap that denies the beauty and potential of this country.
We end our show with something good. Harvey reminds us of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s favorite quote from Thomas Paine, “we have it in our power to begin the world over again.” And isn’t that the truth?

Guests: Harvey KayeLet’s get this week going! In Wisconsin news, Governor Tony Evers’ announced that he will veto any bill that forces local sheriffs to coordinate with ICE or lose state funding. Defunding the police just wasn’t on our bingo card for the 2025 Republican-led state legislature, but here we are. With a Democratic governor seeking to preserve funding for the cops, and Republicans threatening to pull it. Strange times. Also in matters of Wisconsin justice, Brad Schimel keeps joking about begging for money… in direct violation of judicial ethics.
In national news, President Trump pursues his campaign promises to enact steep tariffs. The tariffs against Canada and Mexico are now paused for at least 30 days. Why? Because Trump ‘reached an agreement’ with each country to obtain… less than what Biden’s administration secured. Huh. So what was the purpose of this ‘dumbest trade war’? And why is the SEC now barred from doing their independent investigative work? Well, perhaps it’s all a racket meant to defraud the American people.

Then, on the Dom Salvia Show, Maggie Daun sticks around for the overtime with Dom to dig into the MEMO issued by Trump's White House stalling all federal loans and grants. Not an Executive Order. Not a directive to Congress to draft budget laws. A MEMO. Dom says the message is the chaos. Maggie says it's the fear. In truth, it's probably both.
After that on Maino & the Mayor, the director of the "Green and Gold Movie," Anders Lindwall, calls in to discuss the movie.
