The Dom Salvia Show

Local DNR joined Phil Nee on the November 22 Morning Show to talk about rules and regulations for this year's deer hunting season.

Jim Santelle cohosts today to cover legal matters in the news with Dom. First up, an update on Trump’s pending cases. In New York, Judge Juan Merchan weighs whether to freeze or dismiss the case against Trump. To refresh your memories, this is the case in which President-elect Trump has already been CONVICTED on 34 felony counts for financial crimes.

And what about that Oklahoma case with Ryan Walters mandating Bibles in every classroom? Is that legally sound? Well, shockingly, no. No, it’s not.

Jim Santelle cohosting today as a new unit of time just dropped! You can now measure time by 8-day units as a “Gaetz”. This, of course, in honor of the length of Matt Gaetz’ time as nominee for Attorney General of the United States. Today, just 8 short days after being named as Trump’s nominee for the position, Gaetz’ withdrew his name from consideration.

So who will Trump pick next to lead the Department of Justice? Perhaps a former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice with 10 counts of violations of the state’s attorney code of conduct? As Jim says in regard to the complain filed against Mike Gableman here, “everything is wrong about this.”

The Morning Show on November 21 put the spotlight on the Richland School District. School District Administrator, Steve Board, was on the program to talk about future construction and winter programs.

Matt Rothschild cohosting with Dom today. They dig into Trump’s Cabinet picks. On Tuesday, Massachusetts Representative Jim McGovern delivered a scathing screed against his “Republican friends” who plan to obey Trump in this new administration. Some Republicans are currently signaling they won’t be in lockstep with Trump. Like Nikki Haley, who let loose with her criticism of Trump’s Cabinet picks. Seriously, Representative McGovern put it best, these nominations are beyond insane!

Matt Rothschild cohosts with Dom today. First, a survey of Trump’s nominations for Cabinet. This shouldn’t be surprising, but it’s still rattling: four of his nominations so far are accused of sexual abuse.

Earl Ingram joins us for a segment to talk about the role racism played in the 2024 Presidential election. He sees this election as a serious rollback of social progress. And he’s right. The incoming administration promises to oppose every effort to increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The November 20th Morning Show was dedicated to previewing the 2024 Gun Deer Hunting Season. The program provided updates on regulations and answering questions for hunters prior to the start of the season.

Oklahoma State Superintendent Ryan Walters decreed that every public school classroom needs to have a bible. And not just any bible. The specifications he listed point to one glitzy faux-leather bound tome in particular: the Lee Greenwood/Trump Bible. How will this help Oklahoma dig itself out of their spot at 48th in the nation for education? Walters struggled to defend his position on CNN, and Dom and Jess don’t think it’ll do a whole hell of a lot. But it gives them a lot to talk about with our audience.

First, it’s Overtime with Maggie Daun! Dom and Maggie dig into Michael Gableman, former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice. Gableman faces a disciplinary filing for violating… well, just about every ethics standard our state has. Then, the two address South Carolina Congresswoman Nancy Mace’s new measure to ban transgender people from using appropriate restrooms. The measure is a direct attack on Representative-Elect Sarah McBride, who will be the first openly transgender person to serve in Congress.

Then, Dom’s in a mood. He’s mad about MSNBC Morning Joe hosts Joe and Mika’s travel down to Mar-a-Lago to meet privately with Trump. For all their claims that this was a trip to open up lines of communication for the press, many- Dom included- see it as blatant appeasement of the man they’ve been correctly calling a threat to democracy for YEARS. Dom shares his own experiences being targeted for being part of the press.

The second part of the Morning Show on November 19 put the spotlight on the upcoming Nascar Fans United Walk with GRACE Team craft fair fundraiser that will be held Saturday, November 23, from 9:00 to 3:00 at the Richland Center Intermediate School.
