  • Spooky Scary Polling. And also garbage. (Hour 1)

After a brief check in on trending garbage news, we move to the latest polling concerning the presidential race. Charles Franklin, director of the Marquette Law School Poll joins us to dig into the final survey of the season. In short, no one should be surprised by any result in this election, from Wisconsin’s US Senate race to the presidency.

  • Democracy- it's on the ballot (Hour 2)

Wisconsin State Rep Francesca Hong joins Dom and Matt to talk about the local issues on the ballot next week. In these final days leading up to the election, many of us feel uneasy and overwhelmed. Representative Hong encourages us to use that energy and *do something*. Call and text your loved ones, make a plan to vote, and do what you can to protect our democracy.

In breaking news today, SCOTUS ruled today in favor of systemic voter purging in Virginia. Today’s news also brings more fallout from the Madison Square Garden rally from Trump. More Republicans attempt to distance themselves from Trump as Nikki Haley berates the party for the rally. And, well Biden stuck his foot in his mouth.

  • A more hopeful closing argument(Hour 1)

Kamala Harris delivered her closing arguments for why voters should choose her as the next President of the United States. She chose the Ellipse in Washington, DC for this address. You may recall that this is the same spot where, nearly four years ago, Donald Trump used his pulpit to incite a violent mob to attack the Capitol. Harris’ closing remarks differ widely from Trump’s this past Sunday at Madison Square Garden. Rather than a message stewed in hatred, fear, and divisiveness, Harris shared her plan to lead and unite this country.

Greg Palast, investigative reporter and lawyer, joins Dom and Matt to talk about voter suppression. Greg’s new film, Vigilantes Inc, explores the explosion of highly organized non-governmental voter suppression efforts in America over the past years.

  • So What? So, A Lot! (Hour 2)

Some breaking news in this hour and digging into Michelle Obama’s speech in Kalamazoo, MI on Sunday.

First, the news. The US Supreme Court rejected RFK Jr.’s request to be removed from ballots ahead of the general election. This decision upsets many conservatives who see RFK’s continued ballot presence as a detractor from Trump. Next, in San Francisco, the man who attacked Paul Pelosi- Nancy’s husband- was sentenced to life in prison.

And then, after powering through our lima beans, we get to our cupcake treats. On Sunday, former First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama delivered a powerful stump speech in support of Kamala Harris. We strongly recommend watching the whole speech.

  • Fraudy Fraidy Cats (Hour 1)

First up, it’s overtime with Maggie Daun! Today’s topic is a new report out of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Senate candidate Eric Hovde’s business. Daniel Bice reports that Hovde’s bank has artificially inflated reviews on a site for people to rate their employers.

Next, Dom checks in with Madison-based firebrand, political consultant, executive director of One Wisconsin Now, Gemini, and friend Scot Ross. In this final stretch, we’re seeing the Trump campaign at its most genuine and most terrible. With constant punching down and no selling points for their candidate, we struggle to comprehend the close polling we’re seeing.

  • Vote for a qualified leader AND against a fascist (Hour 2)

First a few bitter morsels showing why a vote for Kamala Harris is so very critical. And then some rewarding cupcakes showcasing why voting for Harris will be so, so very sweet.

Trump chose to host his campaign’s closing rally at Madison Square Garden, in New York City. For many, the rally’s rhetoric raised an ugly specter of a 1939 Nazi rally in the same location.

It’s not ALL doom, gloom, and hatred though! We DO have an extremely qualified and capable person running for this country’s highest office. In the final days of her campaign, Kamala Harris continues to showcase exactly the kind of steady leadership that will steer our country well.
