  • A GOP Closing Argument: Heh heh, go away (Hour 1)

We’re in the final stretch of the presidential election. Yesterday, the Trump campaign presented their closing argument. They chose to do this in the deeply competitive state of *checks notes* New York? Hmm, ok. Surely their final words highlight the positive qualities of their candidate? Well, not so much. The rally featured- SOMEHOW- new lows, and may well serve as a “self-inflicted October Surprise.“

John Nichols of The Cap Times and The Nation joins Dom to break down these final moments of the campaigns. Dom and John talk about the failure of major news sources to endorse a candidate and polling shenanigans that may set the stage for election denialism.

  • Weekly Best of Dom Salvia Show for Oct 26

Catch up on the best segments from this week of the Dom Salvia Show!

First, from Monday’s second hour, The Enablers Bear Responsibility:
Mary Trump, niece of Donald, compiled a list of 13 reasons that disqualify the 45th POTUS from office ever again. The list, we should note, spans only the past 2 weeks. We dig into some of the lowlights. Plus- don’t call it weaving!

Then, a segment from Thursday’s second hour: Let’s see what we can work out- together. Bill Press, podcaster, pundit, and political prognosticator, joins Dom and Earl to check in on the presidential race. He sees Harris’ building of a broad coalition of political allies as an extremely powerful path forward.

Wrapping up with the last two segments from Wednesday’s second hour: Qualified, Experienced, Personable. We began the show with an hour diving into all the reason’s Trump is unfit for the office of President. Including testimonial from his former Chief of Staff and Marine General John Kelly. You can listen to that full interview, conducted by the New York Times, here. But in these two segments, we break down why we believe that Kamala Harris will win.

  • Common Sense (Hour 2)

Harvey J. Kaye, Professor Emeritus of Democracy and Justice Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, joins Dom at the top of the hour. Harvey knows history. And he knows Common Sense. As in, the pamphlet written by Thomas Paine. Not as in whatever the hell Trump was citing as Common Sense in his platform... Please compare that platform with Harris’, for a bit more of what we all thought to be common sense initiatives- backed by plans to make it happen!

A regular caller who consumes far too much disinformation for his health directs us to Virginia’s voter registration. U.S. District Judge Patricia Tolliver Giles ruled today that the state of Virginia needed to reinstate 1600 registered voters purged from their lists illegally for suspicion of non-citizen status. Judge Giles ruled that the systemic purge occurred after the state’s 90-day pre-election window for such group removals from registrations. In this window, Judge Giles rules that each case must be considered individually.

  • Let's see what we can work out- together. (Hour 2)

    Earl Ingram co-hosts with Dom.

Bill Press, podcaster, pundit, and political prognosticator, joins Dom and Earl to check in on the presidential race. He sees Harris’ building of a broad coalition of political allies as an extremely powerful path forward. Harris united Bernie Sanders and Liz Cheney, hopefully bringing their respective supporters under the same tent. Some to the far left dislike this strategy, seeing it as abandonment. And so many more see this is as the answer to what we do on November 6th and January 7th. We must find a way to re-unite and see what we can work out- together.

Also, some more analysis of Harris’ town hall last night. She presented policy, she showcased her ability to answer tough questions, and she highlighted the threat posed by her opponent. And for many, it still wasn’t enough. Bill Press comments on this phenomenon of Harris’ expectation for flawlessness in the face of Trump’s lawlessness: obscene, absurd, and frustrating.

If you still need more reasons to vote for Harris and convince your loved ones to do so as well, make sure to tune in tomorrow for a deep dive into her policies.

  • Keeping an eye on it all (Hour 1)

    Earl Ingram co-hosts with Dom.

Dom and Earl discuss some of the expectations for Election Day, November 5th. This election will likely have record high voter turnout. And with it, both major parties brace for shenanigans. With under a dozen days left until the election, both major parties are organizing teams of poll watchers. Poll watchers present a bit of a tricky situation. They may increase transparency and civic engagement. And they can lead to voter intimidation and suppression.

Kamala Harris participated in a CNN town hall last night. She hammered Trump on his absence from the event and his fascistic ambitions.
