Matt Rothschild co-hosts with Dom today.
In this hour, Dom and Matt turn to why Kamala Harris should (and will!) win this presidential election. As should be abundantly, grotesquely obvious, Donald Trump is not fit for office. The people who know Trump best and the people who know this country’s democracy best share this view. That alone does not qualify his opponent for the presidency.
Kamala Harris is qualified for the presidency by her policies, her experience, and her character. Harris has assembled a broad coalition of support, from former Democratic presidents to past and current Republican leaders in Congress. A majority of Americans support Harris’ proposed policies. She possesses the qualifications, character, and capability to lead us well as Commander in Chief. We think the voters will elect Kamala Harris for President of these United States. So does James Carville, veteran political advisor and analyst. Now let’s get to the polls and make it happen.

Today, we’re digging deep into the ever-increasing calls that Trump is a fascist, supports fascism, and would be a fascistic autocrat if re-elected. Mind, these calls do not come from far left liberals alone. It is the people who know Trump best, the people who worked the closest with him, and the people who know the most about fascism making these assertions. Yes, progressives say it too- check out Matt’s op-ed from yesterday. And so does former Chief of Staff to Donald Trump, retired Marine General John Kelly. Kelly sat for an interview with the New York Times where he laid out very compellingly the case against Trump returning to office. At the core, as stated by Trump’s top general, Mark Milley: Trump is a fascist. He openly admires present and historical fascists. He is unqualified to lead this country.

Guests: Matt RothschildThe Morning Show on October 23 featured the Lower Wisconsin State Riverway Board. The group is celebrating its 35th anniversary. The celebration will be held on Sunday, October 27th.
Guest: Phil NeeRussian disinformation again seeks to disrupt our elections. Last week, a video emerged appearing to feature a former student of Tim Walz accusing the vice presidential candidate of inappropriate behavior towards him. The real man named in the video was shocked to see someone posing as him and making outrageous allegations. US intelligence tracked the origin of the hoax to Russia. Again. They seek destabilization in our country. Let’s really mess them up by holding each other closer.
This Presidential election is one of the highest stake job competition in the world. And it’s close. Despite the kaleidoscope coalition Harris has assembled to support her. Which continues to baffle us as Harris demonstrates again and and again that she has the policies that most Americans want. Meanwhile, Trump praised Hitler’s generals and declared desire to enjoy the same type of sycophants serving him. Y’all, it’s two weeks. Stay engaged, make a plan, and vote.

First, it’s Overtime with Maggie Daun! Maggie sticks around for an extra half hour of air time to chop up the latest legal news with Dom. They dig into Trump’s demonstrated use of the legal system to persecute his enemies, with Michael Cohen as star example. Plus, some steps toward justice with another of Trump’s former attorneys. Rudy Giuliani must surrender his assets in order to pay restitution to the election workers he defamed. Trump wielded the Department of Justice for anything besides justice. In a second term, he’ll do it again. Don’t let it happen. Check your voter registration status, find your polling place, make a plan, and vote.
LuAnn Bird, former Civic Media host and current candidate for Wisconsin’s 61st Assembly District, joins Dom at the bottom of the hour. LuAnn advocates for us all to get involved in our local politics, no matter our age or prior experience!

Guests: LuAnn BirdKamala Harris proves her capacity and qualifications to serve this country as it’s President with every day. Her opponent shows us each day his staggering unfitness for office. Mary Trump, his niece, compiled a list of 13 reasons that disqualify the 45th POTUS from office ever again. The list, we should note, spans only the past 2 weeks. We dig into some of the lowlights. From Mary’s uncle rambling on for 12 minutes about Arnold Palmer, including fixating for way too long on the deceased man’s penis, to his repeated calls to use the military on “the enemy within”- his political opponents.
But it’s not just Donald Trump who threatens our democracy. Each and every enabler who covers for him, excuses his inexcusable behavior, and perpetuates his lies bears guilt for the degradation of our political system.

On Friday, the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association hosted the first and only Wisconsin Senate debate. Will the debate move the needle on the election? Dom and Jess aren’t so sure. They break down the merits and demerits of the debate with listeners. One certainty did emerge from the debate- who deserves our vote. Hovde cannot and will not serve Wisconsin residents best interests. He lacks policy to support Wisconsinites and he lacks the temperament to represent our great state. Tammy Baldwin presented herself, her record, and her policy ambitions strongly.

And this is the man who claims that he's the fittest person to run for office and that it's HARRIS who's health should concern us! So we look at Harris' medical report and break it down. And you know, it's damn good, for anyone let alone a 59-year-old candidate for the most stressful job in the world.

From the first hour of Tuesday’s show: Maggie Daun joins Dom for a bit of overtime to address Trump’s proposed economic plan. You know, the one that most economists agree would weaken our economy by raising inflation and deficits. Now, both Maggie and Dom have formal training in economists. So they do know a thing or two when it comes to tariffs, taxes, and trade wars (oh my). And when Trump claims that his proposed tariffs are just “a figure of speech,” it shows that our two have a better grasp on the topic than he ever will.
Next, from Tuesday’s second hour: Hey conductor? I’d like to get off this Crazy Train. On Monday, the 45th POTUS hosted an event billed as a Town Hall. Dom and Jess thought they understood the format of a Town Hall. What we saw was… not that. Instead, we saw Trump take a few pre-ordained questions. And then hard-pivot away from questions aboard the Crazy Train . And stand, wobbling and smirking in the only way he knows how to dance, for nearly 40 minutes.
Then, in Thursday’s first hour: Who determines when America is great? We. The. People. Eloisa Gomez joins us for a discussion on voter engagement. Eloisa is an author (Somos Latinas: Voices of Wisconsin Latina Activists) and activist with the League of Women Voters, Wisconsin. As part of her efforts with the League, Eloisa co-founded Comité por El Voto Latino, an outreach and advocacy group focused on increasing engagement and excitement with Latino voters.
Finally, from Wednesday’s first hour: A President for All or A President for One, a conversation with Gwen Moore. Gwen Moore, sitting Congresswoman representing Wisconsin’s 4th district, joins us to discuss the current state of the Presidential race.
