On this week's Doombots Marvel Podcast, we're leaving the Marvel Universe and taking a trip to Night City! Cyberpunk 2077 is the culmination of decades of world-building that took place acorss many TTRPG games, and now has become the most complex, immersive, and mind-blowing fictional worlds of all time!

From cosmic nonsense to extensive retconning to time travel, Silver Surfer has it all! At least in terms of things that make some Doombots have psychotic meltdowns. However, Silver Surfer is also rad af, delightfully weird, and very unique, giving him a complexity that many cosmic characters don't possess.

Galactus is one of Marvel's most visually iconic characters, yet beyond the basics that he eats planets, very few people actually know a lot about Galactus. Is this because it's impossible for us puny humans to grasp the cosmic nature of such a being? Or is it just because he's been retconned so many times that the truth about his nature is too confusing to describe? Well, we're gonna try! Listen up as we discuss Galactus, how he came from the 6th universe, what it means to balance Eternity and Death, and whether or not he looks like a horse.

Sometimes, you have the best of intentions. Sometimes, that means using broken nanite technology to inexplicably make a white character appear to be Black character and experience discrimination and racial inequality for the first time. Is this a good way to tackle the subject of racism? Or is it a hamfisted and accidentally offensive narrative gimmick?

The Thunderbolts have a long history in Marvel comics dating back to 1997. Since then, the team has gone through many different iterations, having 75 different members along the way - some famous, like Red Hulk and Punisher - others more obscure, like the Headsman and Citizen V. And only in a recent miniseries did it even slightly resemble the team in the upcoming MCU movie.
