The year is 2000 and wrestling is approaching its peak in American culture, well, at least WWE is. WCW on the other hand is going through corporate shakeups and multiple structural changes that its amazing they were able to put together weekly television on time week to week. WCW in the year 2000 is a buffet of Dork Side topics, but we start with one of the most infamous Items on a Pole matches of all time. Its Billy Kidman vs Shane Douglas in a Viagra on a Pole Match. The winner would be whoever grabs the Viagra.

The year is 1995 and wrestling is about 7 months from entering its second boom period, but these are dark times. High school gyms, low attendance, and fans tired of the same old same old. So in a true "throw something and see what sticks" move, WWE booked a match between two heated rivals, Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Henry O. Godwinn, in a feud settling match: A Hog Pen Match. The objective? Toss your opponent into the hog pen. Anything goes, no pinfalls, no submissions, only risking some viral disease.

The year is 2007 and wrestling is back to being the interest you dont tell your friends about. The faces that made wrestling cool in the 90s are long gone, as is any real form of competition for WWE. Instead WWE is now competing with other entertainment like TV and movies, and in what can only be described as an attempt to out class the other forms of entertainment, Smackdown would host the most over dramatic wedding WWE has ever done, and that is a high bar.

The year is 2002, and wrestling is in a weird place as it's a full year after ECW and WCW have ceased operations. The WWE roster is LOADED with talent, to the point they've split their roster into two, RAW and Smackdown!. On RAW, WWE tried to recreate the magic of Vince McMahon and Steve Austin, except in the form of Ric Flair and Steve Austin. Flair would go as far to tell Stone Cold he was benched, which did not sit well with the Texas Rattlesnake. In an attempt to get back at the Nature Boy and get off the bench, Stone Cold attacked Flair's friend and bodyguard, Arn Anderson. And it wasn't enough to attack him, Stone Cold embarrassed The Enforcer, emptying his bladder onto Anderson's chest.

The Summer of 1992 was one of the last good summers for a couple years for pro wrestling. Weeks before Summerslam 1992, one Papa Shango would lay his eyes and his voodoo onto former WWF Champion The Ultimate Warrior. Over the course of five weeks, Papa Shango would show off his mystical powers to the fans and The Ultimate Warrior. From causing terrible stomach pains to causing black goo to come out of The Ultimate Warrior's forehead and Mean Gene's arm.

The Rock and Wrestling era of WWE and wrestling in general was an interesting time to look back on. Once Captain Lou Albano was able to get Cyndi Lauper to be apart of Wrestlemania 1, the flood gates opened. This week Squid (@ElijahSquid) and Lee join the podcast initially to break down Hulk Hogan being the subject of Dolly Parton's "Headlock on my Heart" which turns into talk about Hulk Hogan clothing choices, which singer/wrestler combo they'd like to see mix it up and collab on a music video and then they watch and discuss John Cena's "Bad, Bad Man" which turns into talk about John Cena's suit game and what rappers would work as wrestlers.

The year is 1999 and Wrestling is in its peak, Stone Cold is hot, The Rock is hot, Mankind is beloved, Mr. McMahon is despised, and anything and everything WWE did topped the previous segment, that is until the segment that would never be topped, "The Rock, This is Your Life". The highest rated segment of all time. The Rock and Mankind would put on a genuine performance of all time greats for almost 20 minutes of live television in front of thousands of paying audience members. SNL could NEVER!

The mid 90s were a bad time for wrestling, the then WWF had just come off of a federal trial, WCW had a new president every year seemingly, and both promotions and others were facing a stark reality that wrestling was dying in the eyes of America. That meant trying to bring people in at any cost, including creating characters that were easy to understand and easy to relate to, like a man so violent for hockey he joined the WWF. The Goon debuted in 1995 and wrestling was never changed as a result of it.

The year is 1995 and America was officially over wrestling. Hulkamania was sleeping peacefully, wrestling went from full arenas to TV studios and high school gyms. The business was struggling to keep fans interests, so it was officially, "Throw it against a wall and see what sticks" and that how we get King of the Road from WCW Uncensored 1995

Summer of 1999, Wrestling is hot as ever, well the WWF was at least. WCW was trying to recapture its glory after odd booking choices on the wrestling side and a corporate purchasing of Turner Broadcasting on the business side had sent WCW into a slide in the wrong direction. That is the background for this week's episode as we watch Sting vs Rick Steiner for the TV Title at Great American Bash in a last man standing match, all so Grumm and his guests JTR (@eljefeJakobe) and Crawford (@Crvwford) can talk about the match, dogs, Paul Pierce, and the rest of the NBA to Attitude Era comparisons.
