On this episode of the SC Pro Wrestling Report I talk about this past weekend’s shows at APW and EWF.  How did these promotions close out the year?  I thought the Ugly Ducklings match with the Sons of Steel was the best match I experienced live this year.  Who walked out of the cage with the titles in Mooresboro, NC?    I also preview this Friday’s show in Kershaw, SC for Palmetto Championship Wrestling.

I apologize for the technical difficulties we encountered in this episode.

Robert Truesdale, aka Redbeard, joins me again to announce the winners of the Carolinas’ Professional Wrestling Awards.  Mark and I recently discussed why The Sons of Steel were our nominees for tag team of the year.  The awards have garnered a lot of attention this year.  On this episode we also talk about the results from Rich Promotion’s Twas the Fight Before Christmas where a new East Coast Championship Wrestling Heavyweight Champion was crowned plus the upcoming shows at Chester APW, the EWF Christmas Show in Mooresboro, NC, and Palmetto Championship Wrestling’s Collision in the Castle on December 29th. Make sure to check out our events and results pages to keep up with all of the action.

It’s time for our 2nd Annual Ultimate Fantasy Wrestling Tournament.  This is part 1 featuring wrestlers from NWA, WCW, and Mid-South.  This is where we narrow it down from 32 wrestlers in that category down to 16.  Check out this part of the tournament from last year  We replaced several wrestlers in each bracket to give it a different flavor this year.  All matches were made by a blind draw with Mark booking the match and us coming to an agreement on the finish.  We are booking this tournament as if it were actually taking place with storylines leading into the final nights of the competition.  If you’re looking for fantasy booking where people mindlessly pick their favorites then you are in the wrong place.  Here are the matches discussed in this episode.

* Blackjack Mulligan vs. Ronnie Garvin

* Dick Murdoch vs. Nikita Koloff

* Goldberg vs. Jim Duggan

* Vader vs. Tommy Rich

* Sting vs. Ole Anderson

* Rick Rude vs. Wahoo McDaniel

* Ric Flair vs. Butch Reed

* Tully Blanchard vs. Brian Pillman

* Lex Luger vs. Paul Orndorff

* Terry Taylor vs. William Regal

* Booker T vs. Magnum TA

* Dusty Rhodes vs. Greg Valentine

* Barry Windham vs. DDP

* Harley Race vs. Scott Steiner

* Arn Anderson vs. Kevin Sullivan

* Junkyard Dog vs. Ron Simmons

All of the winners move on to face a non-NWA/WCW wrestler in the 2nd Round.

On this episode, Mark Whitman and Heath Mullikin address the controversy regarding the Sons of Steel not being finalists for Tag Team of the Year on the Carolinas Professional Wrestling Awards.  You can listen to the announcement of the finalists with Robert Truesdale here.  We share why the Sons of Steel were our nominees for Tag Team of the Year for the CPWA’s.   We feel that Brice Anthony and Boomer Payne simply had the best year.  We also talk about plans for the show for 2018 and some things we will be doing to spread the word on SC Pro Wrestling.  As the show often does we delve into several other topics as well especially since we hadn’t seen each other in a month.  Don’t forget you can get all of your Sons of Steel merchandise at soscustomtees.com along with lots of other great items including the upcoming Double Dropkick Show shirts.

Yesterday my son and I took a 3 and a half hour(one way) road trip to Old School Championship Wrestling in Hanahan, South Carolina.  I made this trip because OSCW was the only major promotion in the state that I had not seen live.  It was well worth the trip.  On this episode I talk about the show itself and some of the guys you need to keep your eyes on in the Carolinas.  I also discuss the state of indy wrestling in South Carolina, the Wrestleforce Radio Network, Boomer Payne’s interview about the Sons of Steel not being named finalists for Tag Team of the year in the Carolinas, Anthony Henry’s 2017, and some future things for the podcast and website to keep your eyes on.
