  • The Douglas Coleman Show w_ Joseph Culp
JOSEPH CULP Actor/Filmmaker - Joseph has been working in theatre, film and television since 1982. He is the son of iconic actor Robert Culp. He was notably seen by television audiences as “Archie Whitman”, the Depression-Era father of “Don Draper” in the hit series Mad Men. He is the first actor to ever play Marvel super-villain “Doctor Doom” in The Fantastic Four. As an actor and filmmaker he won international critical acclaim for his performance as the starving writer in the award-winning film Hunger, an adaptation of Nobel winner Knut Hamsun’s 1890 existentialist masterpiece, which he also produced. Hunger is the first digital feature film to be based on a classic work of literature and won Best Feature awards at Moondance Film Festival and FAIF Film Festivals. Joseph also produced and co-starred in the award-winning indie feature The Reflecting Pool, the first investigative drama to challenge the official version of the 9/11 attacks. Called the ”All The President’s Men of its time”, the controversial film screened internationally to rave reviews, garnering a Columbine Award at Moondance Film Festival and a Special Jury Prize at Chicago’s Polish Film Festival. Joseph directed the short film TRACES , a drama about two desperate women on the run, an official selection at Nordkapp Film Festival in Norway, Palm Springs International, Tucson, and Hollywood Film Festivals. He produced and co-starred in Voice of Life by Knut Erik Jensen, which won Grand Prix at Northern Character Festival in Murmansk, Russia. He recently wrote, directed and co-starred in Welcome to the Men’s Group, a comedy-drama based on the men’s movement.

    SYNOPSIS
WELCOME TO THE MEN’S GROUP takes us inside the intimate dynamic of an all male support group when they gather one morning for a ritual breakfast and their
unique form of male bonding. One Sunday a month, these eight men refrain from
beer and football to sit in a circle where they share their personal issues, in the
noble hope of becoming a bit more evolved than their fathers.
On this particular Sunday things do not go as planned when one member appears
headed for a breakdown. When stressed out corporate attorney, Larry (Timothy
Bottoms), wakes to find his severely depressed wife missing, he’s in no mood to host the monthly “Men’s Group” at his newly built upscale home. But that doesn’t stop the oddball “band of brothers” from descending on his new house for their ritual breakfast and unique brand of male bonding.
Business schemer, Carl, (Stephen Tobolowsky) recently separated from his wife,
casually mentions plans for suicide, which puts everyone on alert.
Latino exmarine, Eddie, (Terence Rotolo) starts berating a young newcomer, Tom (Mackenzie Astin), for not standing up to his wife; while Michael (Joseph Culp), the passionate college professor, initiates a group exercise involving fathers, sons and Greek mythology that goes off the rails. Meanwhile uptight restaurateur, Mohammed (Ali Saam), accuses a New Age social worker, Neil (Phil Abrams), of trying to steal his wife, while the elder Fred (David Clennon), an ex-accountant turned poet, does his best to be the Zen-like voice of harmony.
Against their best efforts to maintain a civilized therapeutic forum, the group
descends into chaos, as long-standing conflicts and secrets come to the surface and
threaten to destroy the group’s trust forever. The film delves frankly into themes of male identity, competition, sexuality, and grief.

    Kathryn Leigh Scott:

Kathryn Leigh Scott's latest work Now With You, Now Without Out is the main work in a quartet of books she has written about caregiving her late husband through a terminal illness and the challenge to keep their marriage alive and her strength intact throughout. Last Dance was the first book. The Happy Hours, published fall 2017 as a Kindle Single by Grand Harbor, an Amazon imprint, chronicles how she introduced a Happy Hours event every day for friends to drop by in order to keep her husband's spirits up. Now With You was then released in print and digital, and A Welcome Respite: How I Regained My Strength, Patience and Well-Being While Caregiving came out at the end of last year as a short ebook. It deals with the aftermath of a spouse's death, and making a new life for herself.

As you know, Kathryn was the star of "Dark Shadows" in which she played multiple roles, including Josette Du Pres, vampire bride of Barnabas Collins (Jonathan Frid). She continues acting to this day (she just completed a featured role in the new Woody Allen film and has a continuing guest role as George Segal's girlfriend in "The Goldbergs") but has also been a writer for a long time. Aside from writing for magazines, she started her own publishing imprint and has published her own writing as well as entertainment books.

Her husband was Geoff Miller, founder and publisher of Los Angeles magazine. He died six years ago of PSP -- Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and through her caregiving, became the national volunteer spokesperson for CurePSP.

  • The Douglas Coleman Show w_ Daniel Park
    Crosshair Kid:

Crosshair Kid is a three piece easy-alt band from Ballymena, Northern Ireland. The trio have been writing music together for over a decade now, with Crosshair Kid being their latest project. The band consists of:

Andrew Johnston - Lead vocals, crummy guitar and even crummier ukulele.

Michael McCluskey - Backing vocals, gentle lover, the talented glue that holds the trio together. Also he plays the guitar just like he's ringing a bell.

Ricky Alexander - Also sings, but mostly just hits things with sticks and his hands. Cajon king and prince of percussion. May or may not be the illegitimate love child of Michael and Andrew from the future.

At present, the band is working on getting more music released and more shows played. Crosshair Kid aims to write feel good music that you can sit back and relax to, while also giving those who listen closer something to think about.

    Daniel Park:
Before settling down in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2012, Daniel Park was in a state of “permanent touring,” traveling all over the Southwest and West Coast performing over 300 shows a year. Over that period, Daniel developed a distinctive sound for his live shows through his use of the electric violin, as well as looping, a technique which is increasingly highlighted by notable artists like Ed Sheeran. The (non-electric) violin was Daniel’s first instrument, as he started lessons when he was five years old. He then transitioned to learning the acoustic guitar when his parents started noticing him strumming his violin with both hands, and it became a major instrument of his in high school. Daniel’s accolades include being picked as one of the top 100 acts in Season 7 of America’s Got Talent, and his "Sidewalk Guitar" EP is the current hold music for the online shoe and clothing company Zappos. He currently holds weekly residencies at the Bellagio on the Las Vegas strip, where he entertains crowds for three to four hours a night. Daniel has written and recorded music for three EP’s, two Live EP’s, and is currently writing music for an upcoming album.
