We almost left Trapeze Atlanta.
Our first impression was not what we expected. The front room was quiet, we were not sure what was happening, and then someone punched a code into a door.
On the other side was the Diamond Club—and one instruction: “You need to meet Max.”
Max does not work for Trapeze. He is a longtime single male member who says he has been visiting since 2004 and became an unofficial ambassador because people trust him to respect the room.
Max joins The Professor, Chuck D., and The Dean to explain what single men often get wrong, why acknowledging the entire couple matters, and how communication, consent, emotional intelligence, and acting like you have been there before can build trust in lifestyle spaces.
He also shares his personal memories of Trapeze’s former indoor pool and hot tubs, how Atlanta’s lifestyle scene has changed from his point of view, and one unforgettable club story involving two sisters, a cousin, and the terrifying discovery that the “lube” was actually liquid soap.
