Bed Bath and Beyond stock shot quite high this week and then suddenly collapsed.  Could this be intentional? 

This lawsuit between Swizz Beatz, Timbaland and Triller is messier than you thought. 

According to CNN, Mike Hickmon lost his life during an argument over youth football:  "The suspect in a shooting that killed a 43-year-old coach during a weekend youth football game outside Dallas turned himself in Monday, police said.  Yaqub Salik Talib, 39, the brother of former NFL star and Super Bowl winner Aqib Talib, pulled out a gun after the opposing teams’ coaching staffs had a disagreement over officiating during the game on Saturday in Lancaster, police said. Michael Hickmon, a grandfather and father of three from Lancaster, was killed.  “The altercation became physical, leading to the suspect pulling out a firearm and shooting Mr. Hickmon multiple times,” the Lancaster Police Department said in a statement. “After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene in an unidentified vehicle, taking the firearm with him.”"  #BlackMen #BlackYouth #BlackBoys

I read online today about something called "Quiet Quitting," where millions of Gen Z employees are doing the bare minimum on their jobs without officially quitting.

The Quiet Quitting trend has become quite big on Tik Tok, as young people (Gen Z represents those born in 1989 or later) have rejected the hustle culture embraced by their parents.

There are a few reasons for the Quiet Quitting phenomenon, part of which is that the pandemic blurred the lines between work and life and is leading many to reflect on whether or not it makes sense to spend more time with your boss than you spend with your own family.

I get it. I actually felt this way 29 years ago when I finished college. The thing was that I was seen as an oddball for questioning the way we work. I never thought it made more sense for a mother to be at a factory than with her child. I never felt that as a father, I'd rather be with my boss than my wife.

I saw an image comparing the rapper Quavo from The Migos to billionaire Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon. While Bezos has a net worth that's literally 7,692 times that of Quavo, he's also nearly twice his age (58 vs 31).

The deeper question is this: Why are black men on stage the ones that we see the most in society other than young black men like Paris Dean, a Tech Stars graduate who built an app that earned $100 million dollars in a couple of days?

This speaks to an important idea: Rappers are NOT the best and brightest that the black community has to offer. Many of them, unfortunately, have become tools of white supremacy and a music industry that has earned billions of dollars pushing toxic behavior onto young black men that will lead to them getting hooked on drugs, killing each other or ending up in prison.
