Today, I talk about black owned businesses and ways we need to support them.
When @charriselane spoke up against the disturbing imagery being promoted of #blackwomen in music, racist media went on the attack.
Today, I speak with Taaqiy Grant, the creator of the new film Hapi, which shows that the roots of modern economics started in ancient Africa.
No, Netflix stock isn’t dead.
Yes, the company took a hit.
Yes, the number of subscribers dropped for the first time in a decade.
But before you write Netflix off for dead, consider these factors:
First, Netflix's negative subscriber numbers is largely driven by the fact that the company chose to pull out of Russia. This is, in my view, another reason why companies may want to reconsider getting involved in politics.
Secondly, if you had invested $1,000 in #Netflix stock the last time the company had negative subscriber growth, you would have over $20,000. The time to buy into a company is when it's down, not when it's up. Netflix stock was severely overpriced during the pandemic.
Third, Netflix has a great deal of low hanging fruit that can lead to profitability, starting with the fact that there are 100 million shared passwords that could be monetized with a lower-tier, ad-supported system.
Fourth, the company still dominates all the streaming giants, with over 221 million subscribers. Disney is still 100 million subs away. Let's not even talk about the other streaming services, who will never have the numbers that Netflix has right now.
Fifth, Netflix has talented management that has shown itself quite capable of solving serious problems. I wouldn't be surprised if the stock were to rally over the next two years.
That's just my two cents. But I hardly see Netflix as another Blockbuster. I am personally going to make an investment.

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith angered their fans by releasing a preview of the Red Table Talk without even mentioning the Oscars Slap. I speak on this podcast not just about this incident, but also the high cost of divorce and what it would look like for this economic powerhouse to part ways. There are also thoughts I had about the importance of relationship maintenance in your wealth building journey and how our family structure plays a big role in our economic outcomes.

I love the game #CallOfDuty and play it with a bunch of my equally immature 50 year old friends. While we grew up seeing videogames as child's play, I saw it as a very interesting on-ramp to the #metaverse, where trillions in commerce will be happening over the next 20 years.
Call of Duty is not a tiny thing. The company that owns Call of Duty, Activision, is currently being acquired by #Microsoft for a whopping $68 billion dollars. Given the degree to which they are marketing Snoop's involvement, it wouldn't surprise me if the metaverse could make Snoop into a billionaire.
Snoop's moves are interesting, because he's also been making major acquisitions in digital real estate, NFTs and other areas that are key to the world's economic future.
If you are an investor and want to be connected to the future, I encourage you to pay close attention to these moves that are being made. You don't want to get into this industry when it's too late.
I spoke today on The Black Financial Channel about Snoop Dogg's moves and also how you can benefit financially from economic trends in the metaverse, NFTs, etc. You are welcome to watch the podcast here or you can also listen on Spotify.

Elon Musk wants to buy Twitter completely - should he? According to Fox Business: Tesla CEO Elon Musk offered to buy Twitter in a deal worth more than $43 billion and take the social media company private. Musk’s best and final offer was to pay $54.20 per share for 100% of Twitter, and said that if his offer was not accepted he’d have to reconsider his position as a shareholder, according to an SEC filing.
