The Dr. Phil Podcast

Are DEI initiatives the path to leveling the playing field, or have they become the very embodiment of the "reverse racism" they sought to eliminate? Critics argue that DEI policies are the Trojan horse of modern society, sneaking in new forms of discrimination under the guise of equality. As lawsuits pile up and the Supreme Court strikes down these initiatives, white men in particular are increasingly vocal about their fears. Many feel that DEI has made them targets, and that their opportunities are being stripped away to satisfy diversity quotas. What is really happening? We explore DEI and its effects across society.

Gen Z are growing increasingly disillusioned and pessimistic about the state of the world around them. A major multi-country study found that over 50% of young people believe that humanity is doomed. Gen Z or "Generation Doomer" witnessed the hope of obtaining their parents' and grandparents' American Dream lifestyles disappear after reaching adulthood. No wonder young people are angry, despondent, and hopeless.

Young generations are cynical about their careers, the climate crisis, economic stability, interpersonal relationships, and the inability of their governments to govern effectively. Young professionals decry they work twice as hard as boomers and receive none of the benefits. Doomers aren't even trying to hit milestones like homeownership- instead they're doom-spending on outlandish travel and luxury goods. Many Doomers say they not only have no hope for the future- they can't stop doom-scrolling about all of the atrocities in the world, creating a vicious cycle of emptiness.

On the other hand, futurists say we've faced eras of mass critical stress several times and humans have always evolved, adapted, and survived. For all we know, our lives in the future could be beyond our wildest dreams. The question we're asking tonight is- are these Doomers just contributing to their own plight and downfall?

Dr. Phil takes the incoming "Border Czar" Tom Homan to the Arizona Border. Trump recently appointed Tom Homan as our "Border Czar" to help implement his vision on fixing our border crisis. Homan has over 30 yrs of experience in immigration enforcement, having served in various capacities, including as a police officer, Border Patrol agent, and acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under Trump from January 2017 to June 2018. He also gained recognition for overseeing record deportations during the Obama administration, earning the Presidential Rank Award for his service. Dr. Phil takes Homan for the first time to see the Oletski Border Center in Arizona and to see a portion of the unfinished border wall. Homan meets with several sheriffs eager to hear how he plans on fixing the border plus talks to a rancher who says his property has caught 500,000 illegal migrants trespassing.

Dr. Phil continues his conversation with Tom Homan, the newly appointed border czar under President Trump, about his extensive experience in law enforcement and immigration enforcement over three decades. They dive into the political motivations behind border policies, the operational control of cartels, and the multifaceted challenges to border security, including terrorism risks and the humanitarian plight of migrants. Homan's perspectives—to many, controversial—connect deeply with his long-standing commitment to enforcing immigration laws, as well as his emotional investments in preventing human suffering. The discussion captures a complex narrative of national security, politics, and humanitarian ethics, contributing to ongoing debates around U.S. border policy and enforcement. Dr. Phil supports Homan's dedication, applauding his transparency and the humanitarian concern for those affected by illegal border crossings. Throughout, the emphasis remains on securing borders to protect American citizens and migrants from harm. Whether you agree with his methods or not, there's no denying that Tom is a key player in the ongoing debate over border security.

Dr. Phil has an in-depth conversation with President-Elect Trump's incoming "border czar," Tom Homan. Tom is about as tough as they come. With decades of experience, he's been tapped to oversee all U.S. borders – including air and sea security – and lead the charge on deporting undocumented immigrants. It's a cornerstone of Trump's immigration plan. But Homan is no stranger to controversy. You probably remember his role in the "zero tolerance" policy. He's not afraid of a fight, and he doesn't back down when it comes to his beliefs. Tom tells Dr. Phil about his plans on day 1, how he will implement these mass deportations, and why he's so passionate about keeping our country safe from the cartels, drugs and human trafficking.

Dr. Phil ventures into the wild world of prepping, where families and individuals are gearing up for doomsday scenarios amid political tension and global uncertainty. With the political climate boiling over and the specter of disaster looming, a surprising trend is taking root: prepping. Once dismissed as paranoid fringe behavior, preppers are now part of the mainstream. Dr. Phil delves into the psychology behind prepping, uncovering the motivations and fears that drive this growing movement. From nuclear war to civil unrest, the threats are real, and preppers are ready to face them head-on. Landon and Amanda are a prepper family, stocking their high-tech underground bunker in Indiana with enough supplies to withstand an apocalyptic event. Dr. Drew Miller says his Fortitude Ranch locations across the country are prepped for over 50 different scenarios that could collapse the US. Tylor is a survivalist in Utah who says preppers have been given a bad name. Dr. Bradley Garrett, a prepper researcher, gives insights on the psychology of prepping after studying people all over the world. But as tensions escalate and uncertainty mounts, Dr. Phil urges viewers to consider the true cost of preparedness. With humor and insight, he navigates the fine line between caution and obsession, reminding us all to live in the present while preparing for the worst. It's a gripping journey into the heart of survivalism, where the line between fear and foresight is razor-thin.
