Throughout the summer I’ve been featuring various topics on the podcast that I thought could be helpful as you plan the next school year. One of the greatest benefits of homeschooling is the incredible opportunity we have to build a strong family and learning together can be one very powerful way to do that! Today Pam Barnhill is here to share why she believes that you don’t have to sacrifice relationships to homeschool strong.

Should we let our kids do sleepovers? That’s the topic of today’s episode and one that seems to be getting a lot of attention right now, with good reason. Today my friend Angie joins me again to discuss our convictions and why we made the choices we did.

I’m excited to be addressing the topic of screen time and teens! It’s sometimes challenging to navigate setting healthy boundaries with teens over screen time, so I hope today’s episode will give you the tools to work with your teen to establish lifelong healthy screen habits!
Creating healthy screentime habits isn’t just about time management. As we will find out today, there is so much more to consider. The studies and data are in and something every parent should know.

Moms often have questions about healthy screen time habits, so I decided to do 2 episodes on this topic.
Today we will discuss healthy screen time habits for kids 0-12. In the next episode, we will cover healthy screen time habits for teens.
Creating healthy screentime habits isn’t just about time management. As we will find out today, there is much more to consider. You will not want to miss this one! It's bold!
Find out:
Why screentime is the opposite of what a child needs
Why iPads are one of the worst inventions ever
Why kids are experiencing anxiety as early as 8-10 yrs old (or younger)
Why co-viewing is always best
What happens to our kids' brains after 30 minutes on screens
Should we use screen time as a reward? What are effective and meaningful rewards?
Why keeping our kids off screens is not sheltering them
Why it's easy to underestimate the amount of time our kids are actually spending on screens
Is there a connection between easy access to screens and addiction?
Is screentime a neutral activity?
How do video games affect our kids' brains?
Does the record level of kids with ADHD have anything to do with screens?

I've been wanting to do this interview for a long time! I have so much respect for my sister-in-law and know that you will love what she has to share!
Jolene has been married to my brother Frank for 32 years. She is the mom of 11 kids (ages 30-10) and mammie to 12 grandkids and she has been homeschooling for almost 3 decades. She is active in her church and community. I am so grateful that she is fulfilling the role of Titus 2 woman as she mentors younger moms.
You all are going to love this one!
