Kevin Eshleman preached an outstanding message previously on the church that "the gates of hell cannot prevail against" mentioning that the early church in the book of acts "turned the world upside down". In this message Barry lists some essential elements to the mission of the church that enable us to make that kind of impact on the surrounding culture.

We are saved for the purpose of good works that God has prepared for us.

The message will examine the tendency of our heart attitudes toward money and material possessions.

We at Ephrata Community Church are about to spend the week hosting "The Sending"-- a mission conference with dozens of representatives from around our nation and the world. It is one of those weeks where we will receive inspiration as we hear of amazing things that God is doing. We will also hear of the challenges we face as we partner with God in those endeavors. Whatever the outcome, a week from now, we don't want to be so impressed by what others are doing, or so overwhelmed by the need, that we don't know what we can do to help. Together we will explore what we can do as everyday individuals when we find "the world on our doorstep."
